Best fresh fish specials 8/8/2011

Best fresh fish specials and great waitstaff. I eat there weekly and am always excited about my meal because every time I go there's always something new. All that and a great staff! And, I don't know what salsa this lame guy is referring to, but the hot salsa at the Burrito is absolutely the freshest I have ever had in a restaurant, and by far the best, if you can stand the heat. Love the food, keep up the good work! more

They make some killer oyster tacos 8/4/2011

We make the Flying Burrito a regular twice-a-month out-to-eat experience. I love the amazing triggerfish fajitas (a frequent special). Also, they make some killer oyster tacos. Everything I have had here is wonderfully seasoned and well-prepared. My only objection is that they tend to bring all of the dishes in too quick succession, even when we ask them to wait. We just start on the margaritas and chips when here comes the salad. We are in the middle of our fabulous salad, when all of a sudden, the main dish arrives. Little to gripe about, though, when the food is so great -- that's why they get a nine instead of a ten. more

Will drive 9 hours just to go there 8/2/2011

The Flying Burrito has the best mexican seafood, soups and chili I've ever had. The patio is great, and the margaritas are wonderful (I hate sweet margaritas). I love the smothered Flying Mayan burrito. Smothering does cost extra, but it is written on the menu. Chips don't come with the meal because when you go to a restaurant you're usually expected to pay for food. If you don't want to pay 1.50, then you will have plenty of room for all the wonderful options on the menu. I used to be a regular there but live in Austin, Texas now and have yet to find a restaurant that compares to the Flying Burrito. In fact, when I visit the east this summer, I will drive 9 hours out of the way just to go there. I can't wait. The Flying Burrito is what I miss the most in Chapel Hill. more

The Burrito is back! 7/29/2011

The Burrito is back! No, it's not the same old dirty funky place, and the restrooms are now clean and tidy but a lot of the same dishes are on the menu. Don't think classic Mexican restaurant-- think great seafood and veggie dishes (as well as beef & chix) but in general really fresh fish and simply constructed food. Hands down this is the most reasonably priced menu in town for the amount and quality of food you get. And if you like HOT they can crank the temperature up on the spice (or not). Great job guys, thanks for revitalizing the place! more
