I had Flower Flour do my cake and flowers for my recent wedding. I admit that I had a few changes to my flower requests but on my last meeting with the owner, I thought with all the written down notes, that we had the same game plan. I had asked for mostly ""Pale"" pink and maybe a few white flowers in my centerpieces and bouquets. For the cake I had shown her some handmade cake jewelry branches I wanted to use. She told me they'd look better in my hair and she didn't want to put them on the cake because they'd look terrible without the flowers and I just gave in. When I showed up the day before to drop them off she was very excited to show me the start of my bouquets that were purple, fushia, white, dark green and purple filler flowers and a few giant wilted looking pinkish roses. I asked that she not put the purple or green flowers in there and I'd ignore the fushia ones. She called later to make sure she could still use the purple in the centerpieces. I told her no and her response was that she was going to have to scrounge up pink flowers to replace them. She still ended up putting the green filler flowers in the centerpieces anyway. The bouteniers and corsages were huge, heavy and very outdated. I had to adjust my own bouquet due to the odd wide shape of it. I'm confused at how the communication was so badly misunderstood. Even with all my flower changes I still had always wanted mostly or all pale pink flowers with a little bit of white. I even specifically said no fushia. I was extremely dissappointed with the flowers and the owners lack of listening skills. My cake ended up looking overgown with giant wilty flowers all over it with just a little bit of my cake jewelry showing underneath them and a huge split in the icing on the front of the bottom layer.
Pros: Cake tasted great
Cons: Terrible communication and errogant owner
