Cute local place, no business sense. 5/22/2010

I love Flour Girls & Dough Boys .. usually. It is the quaintest little cafe, perfect for a mom's night out, but also child friendly enough for a laid back lunch. The kids' play kitchen is an adorable spot, tucked away enough to not cause too much chaos. I enjoy eating here with my children, friends, or by myself, with a good book and food to nibble on. The menu is pretty good - with a few items that have become obsessed over and recommended by many. Two of the items I have been told ""You HAVE to try that"" by so many women, are the Chocolate Mousse Hot Chocolate, and the Prince Charming cake. Unfortunately for Flour Girls & Dough Boys, both of those items are so popular that they are difficult to keep in stock. It's become a chronic problem for those who enjoy and return for those two items. There was a solid two week period where the Prince Charming cake was unavailable. I was told repeatedly to try coming back the next day. I received the same suggestion daily. Unfortunately, my sister in law's birthday passed, and I was never able to get ahold of her favorite cake, despite being told to try day after day. The saddest thing for me has been my attempt to support this local cafe as I have been passing by Starbucks, Kneaders, Beans & Brews, Blue Lemon, etc. to get my morning hot chocolate. Flour Girls & Dough Boys Chocolate Mousse Hot Chocolate has been called ""to die for"". I'm glad it's not true, or many of us would be dead many times over. I have tried (too hard) to buy their hot chocolate. Sadly, there have been WEEKS where the hot chocolate is simply unavailable. There have been times where the woman behind the counter would get irritated when I asked if they had hot chocolate. I was told to look at a location in the display, and if I didn't see it there, don't bother asking if they had it. I was a bit taken about by the woman's irritation. So, 3 stars for the atmosphere and other food. Just don't expect the Hot Chocolate. Pros: Good food, awesome hot chocolate Cons: Rude employees, ""Out of Stock"" often more

Yummy food, but SLOW service!!! 2/2/2010

The cookies and cupcakes are deliciously sinful, but the sugar cookies have waaaay too much icing on them. We are icing fanatics at our house, but we all have to wipe off half the icing before we can eat the cookie. (Otherwise, we get a stomachache from sugar overload!) Pros: Most of the food is very good Cons: Prepare for a long wait if there is ANYONE ahead of you more

Run, don't walk to Flour Girls and Dough Boys! 2/19/2009

This is my favorite place to come study in the afternoons! They have free wireless internet and an endless supply of amazing food. Their soups are to die for and they make them from scratch back in the kitchen. Their bread is to die for. I make brie and basil sandwiches with their baguette all the time (the only decent stuff I've found since getting back from France). Their shortbread cookies and chocolate mousse hot chocolate are to die for. Just go! You won't regret it. more

Great Bread! Pros: Home made goodness, friendly staff, fun store Cons: crowded more

Awesome made from scratch food! The best locally owned restaurant in Utah!! 12/8/2008

This is the best kept secret in Utah. I hate to even let other people know about this gem, but we all want them to stay in business. We have loved everything we have had from the panini sandwiches, homemade soups and the desserts. Believe me if you go you won't be sorry. If there is a line it is very much worth the wait. Awesome oatmeal raisin coconut cookies!! Keep up the from scratch cooking!! more

Best new bakery in the valley. It's worth the trip. 11/19/2008

I took my wife here after all of her friends raved about it. I was a little hesitant to visit a 'new' place like this, but once I tried their food, they won me over. We met the owner and quickly realized that this store is her passion. She loves doing what she does so well, and that is creating delicious food. Everything is hand-made each day using her own recipes that have been tried and tested. Every time I have been to this store and tried something new, I come away pleasantly surprised. However, my favorite will always be a bowl of their famous Tuscan sausage and bean soup, a sandwich on one of their delicious artisan breads, and a gourmet dessert to top it off. If you like Kneaders, you will LOVE this place. Pros: Excellent food! Cons: The store gets a little crowded at times, and the line sometimes goes out the door. more
