Over 15 years and still looking good! 10/13/2010

I've had Florio brothers do not one, but TWO driveway replacements for us over the years. The last one was done over 15 years ago, and the driveway has held up beautifully! No sinking or buckling like the original drive, no cracking, no crumbling...and the float finish looks super!\r \r Recently, I drove past the first drive that they replaced for us at our old house, and after 20 years, it still looks fabulous.\r \r Fair prices & excellent results- I would use them again without hesitation and I recommend them highly. more

Great work done by a great group of guys! 2/15/2010

Florio Bros came in and poured and stamped my patio. Work was done beautifully and I always receive compliments on how nice my patio looks. I am 100% happy and would use them again and recommened them to all! Pros: Great work at a fair price more

Vito came in $1,000 under two other contactors on a $3,000 driveway. He said the job was not worth more. I said buy better concrete and I would pay for it. He uses Medina Supply and could not pay more for it. He added extra cuts to control cracking. He said salt would cause spalling. He sealed it with no problems since 2007. Pros: Excellent attention to detail more

driveway is falling apart after 2 years 5/19/2008

We had Florio Brothers install a new driveway/sidewalks in June 2005 for a cost of $7000. In January 2008, I noticed that the driveway was starting to crumble in many places. It took 3 months of calling to get the owner, Vito Florio Sr., to come out to look at our driveway. When Vito Sr. finally came in late April 2008, he said the driveway falling apart was NOT HIS RESPONSIBILITY OR HIS FAULT. Note: we sealed our driveway in Oct. 2005 with 2 coats of concrete sealer as recommended by Florio Brothers. He said maybe it was the concrete used but only testing would determine that. He said testing could only be done in warm weather and it takes months to get results. He said he would contact the concrete supplier the very next day to get them out to our house to test our driveway.\r \r I contacted the concrete supplier who in turn put a call into Florio Brothers to talk to them about our driveway but the concrete supplier never got a call back. The concrete supplier said they had been in business long enough to see the same 4-5 contractors have problems over and over and Florio Brothers was one of them. I also spoke with a testing laboratory that had done work for Florio Brothers in the past and was told that the concrete testing can be done at any time of the year and results take 2 weeks.\r \r As of this writing, May 2008, Florio Brothers has not come out to test our driveway. They have not called us about testing our driveway. \r \r Added Nov. 2008: Other driveways in our neighborhood done by Florio have the same problems we have. If this were a supplier problem, then Florio should have tested our driveway to determine that. Any problems with the concrete supplier should NOT be the customer's job to sort out. The contractor bears responsiblity for the supplies that they use and the suppliers they work with. I also did research into our problems and finish work can alter the water content of the concrete enough to cause the problems we are seeing in our driveway Pros: were very quick to come give us an estimate in June 2005 Cons: Do not guarantee their work. Read my report...it says it all. more
