My wife and I hired Floors To Go on 12.8.07 to install carpeting on 1.5.08. My wife met the installers on 1.5.08 around 8:30am and they finished at approximately 11:30am. We did a cursory walkthrough and everything looked fine. On Mon. Jan 21 I noticed that the carpet in the front bedroom was cut crookedly and left a gap. I called Mike Rorie, the president of this Floors To Go, on Tues. Jan 22 about this and I asked that someone come out to fix this problem. Mike brusquely told me that he would send his installer out the next day at 4pm. I had to leave work early on Wed. Jan 23 to meet the installer who failed to show up. At 4:30pm I called Mike and he said he was very busy and that he vaguely remembered talking with me and doubted he scheduled the 4pm time. I rescheduled for Thur. Jan 24 at 7:30am. On Thurs morning the installer met me and when he pulled the carpet back to start the fix, I noticed that our concrete sub-floor was shattered. The installer said it was like that initially and his crew did not use the correct nails to secure the tack strip in the first place. I told him regardless of the floor or not having the correct materials to do a proper job, they should have told my wife who was there the whole day that they needed the correct supplies to do a complete job and come back later to finish if need be. I called Mike after the carpet was fixed and asked him for a partial refund or some type of compensation for taking time off of work so they can fix their error. Mike was extremely rude from the beginning of the conversation and told me that he absolutely would not refund anything and that I should "...get over it and move on. People run red lights and cut people off every day and they get over it and so should you". I was taken aback by his uncaring attitude towards a paying customer and asked him if this is how it's going to be and he again told me to "get over it and move on". I hung up with Mike exasperated by his behavior towards a client.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Rude management and terrible customer service.
