5 star food, in a unique building 3/1/2009

The reason why the 5 of use went was to support the local restaurant, rather than a chain. The food was prepared in plain sight, although it could not be anywhere else.. (You'll see) Service was great, and very polite to use gurls. The steak Salad was great nice mix of dark greens and will return. to try the other items in the near future.. You should go as soon as you can!! Pros: just about everything that we had was super Cons: seating was limited cause of the way the historic building was built, but that should a given more

Unique setting and unique food 1/16/2009

Finally a place where the food has flavor! My favorite thing on the menu is the black & blue steak salad. Great value and always something special on the menu. The staff has a slight attitude, but is mostly friendly. It is nice that there is also parking right behind. If you are looking for someplace different to eat definitely try it out. Oh yeah, and you can watch them cook right in front of you! Cool atmosphere as well... Pros: Great food, always unique menu Cons: No cons more

Wonderful place for lunch or dinner 8/7/2008

I went to this place a lot when I was staying at the Red Roof Inn next door on Nationwide Blvd. It is a great atmosphere and the BBQ is wonderful. They have these hot n' spicy fries with mozzarella cheese on top that are to to die for! I am about a hour away from Columbus but I would drive up to Columbus just to have lunch or dinner here. I definitely recommend it. If you are looking for a non-chain establishment and great food, Flat Iron is a good choice then! more

Great BBQ 7/5/2006

I frequented this restaurant for lunch when I used to work downtown. The atmosphere is casual but charming and the waitstaff very accomodating-- let your server know if you are on a short lunch break for speedier service. Sit outside on the patio in the summer and try the barbeque! The pulled pork sandwich is my favorite-- the meat is a perfect spicy/sweet combo and goes well with the cool side of slaw. Very impressed 6/14/2004

I was very pleased with the meal that my boyfriend and I had here. I had the grilled portabella mushroom sandwich, and I swear it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Additionally, Flatiron is just a very comfortable, cheap but nice bar and grille. And the coffee is excellent! Pros: comfortable, delicious, reasonably priced more

Greatest four days 11/19/2002

While attending the Percussive Arts Society's convention in Columbus, I came across the Flat Iron Bar & Grill. What a place!! Great Food, wonderful people and the owner, Roger McLane was a great host. Unfortunately, I watched my hockey team, the Anaheim Ducks beat out Columbus' team the first night. In spite of that, I was still very welcomed and had a wonderful time all three nights I hung around the place. Food was wonderful. I'd call this place home if I lived there permanently. more

Uptown Diner Style! 8/8/2002

For incredible food quality and tase in an atmospshere that supports the most caual to dressed for the show, The Flatiron is the place. AND, this restaurant serves THE best cup of coffee in a restaurant in the midwest! The Burgers are out of this world and made to order. The soups are Fresh and wholesome.
