Fix

Ok I haven't had my hair done in a year. I have moved around a lot and I don't trust hairstylists for reasons like this... so I put it off. Finally my husband insisted I spend the ridiculous amount of money because he wanted it done well and for me to love it. Instead I spent over $200 and I hate it. I went in with mid back length blond hair and came out with a ""posh"" hair cut..... I wanted it shorter. I wanted it in the middle of my neck and said specifically 4 times that I needed to be able to pull it back and I got the opposite of that. I cant pull any part of it back... its about 4 inches shorter than I asked for... not to mention it took 4 1/2 hours and she washed my hair like you would clothes on a washboard... and left me sitting there for 5 mintues.... (those sinks are so uncomfortable especially if you're tall) If I wanted to waste $200 and hate my hair I would have gone to a SuperCuts and tipped them $150 extra dollars. I'll NEVER go back there. I'm very particular about my hair and it's hard to find someone I can trust. Several months ago I met a woman who had one of the nicest haircuts I've ever seen. When I asked her where she gets her hair done, she said the only person she's trusted with her hair for the past 5 years was Keoni who is now at the Fix. I don't live near Kailua, but thought it would be worth a try. I'm glad that I did. Keoni seemed to know what to do with my hair before I sat down. I have recently moved to the area and used City Search as a way to find a salon. Being the first time, I was very nervous, but it turned out to be a great place. I chose Jamie through another review and he was FABULOUS. He did exactly what I asked him to and confirmed through statements or questions about what I wanted. The salon, itself, is clean, contemporary and a lot of parking around the building. If you still aren't sure this is the salon for you, visit it for yourself and get a consult before trying it out. I really liked this place although it was a bit pricey for me...58$ but then again i am a college student. I have curly hair so sometimes its hard to find a stylist for my kind of hair. My stylist was Dana and she was very sweet and she gave me what i wanted well i actually didnt know what i wanted i just said i wanted something different, i had shoulder length hair at the time. she went over a few things i could do with it and then she kind of played with it to see what i liked best and once i told her she went to work. She took her time on me and the results showed. i really liked my hair cut. I really like the setting its very modern so that was cool. I plan to continue my business with Dana. I had my hair done at the fix by my new stylist Jamie and I couldn't be happier! I don't mind paying for what I get, but normally I go to a salon and feel as though they don't listen to me or don't give me advise on what would help me look my best. I leave usually paying way too much for a bad service. But with Jamie he really took the time to find out who I was, and helped me create a style that best fit me and my lifestyle. I'm a working mom without a lot of time, he cut my hair so that basically when I have the time to style it, it looks great, but also when I don't have the time to style it I can air dry and the shape is still there! The only other time I had a cut as good was when I went to a vidal sasoon salon and paied quite a lot but was very happy. I found out after our conversation that he was trained at the vidal sasoon academy. Oh and he gave me the best scalp massage of my life!!! Pros: the service was incredible Cons: i felt the music was a bit loud and controversial for my tastes, and parking can be a challange so get there early more

I am new to the area and was looking for a hair salon that would be able to really understand what kind of look I was going for! I had a wonderful experience....very friendly and helpful staff...my color and cut came out better than I had imagined and I didn't end up having to pay an arm and a leg for it! This is a lovely facility, but beware of exaggerated, alternative approach to cuts and style. I received the worst hair cut of my life here. Be careful who you get to do your hair. Pros: nice location and lovely facility Cons: you are at the mercy of the stylist more
