The smell of a savory burger and salty fries floods your senses. You walk into a average little restaurant, with not so average little burgers. I?m talking half pound burgers stacked with two beef patties, ketchup, mustard, mayo, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, grilled onions, green peppers, and pickles. Five Guys Burgers and Fries is one of the newest restaurant additions in the little town of Mount Prospect, Illinois and with many magazines and newspapers backing them up, I am not kidding when I say they have one of the best burgers around.
When you first walk in you are greeted by the friendly staff who let you take your time, even if it is a madhouse during lunch hour. There is not much of a selection on the menu which mostly consists of their famous burgers, fries, and hot dogs. So if your not up for a dog or burger this may not be the place for you. The price range is a little high for a fast food place, but it is much better quality then McDonalds or Burger King. The burgers and fries are fresh, cooked to order, and in my opinion much better than any other fast food joint. On average, you can get your burger, fries, and drink for about ten bucks. After you have ordered and your fresh burger is thrown on the grill you can go get yourself a drink, napkins, and oh yeah, peanuts. All around the restaurant there are big boxes of peanuts that you can scoop into a container and snack on while you are waiting for your burger (although there isn?t much of a wait). Within five minutes your burger is made to order and is waiting for you at the counter, along with your freshly cut fries. Once you finally bite in to your long awaited burger, the flavor will overwhelm your taste buds and they will be begging for more. The fries pair perfectly with the savory taste of the burger for the best fast food meal money can buy.
Also Five Guys has been highly rated by many media sources. The burgers have been the Washingtonian Magazine's ""Readers' Choice"" #1 Burger every year since 1999. Also they have been ZAGAT survey rated from 2001-2010. There is an old saying, ?Don?t judge a book by it?s cover.? This quote is very true about Five Guys. The sign for this burger hut is the words ?Five Guys? in plain red letters and the interior of the restaurant looks like unfinished industrial area, but what Five Guys lacks in style it makes up for it in taste. I would highly recommend Five Guys Burgers and Fries because they have one of the best burgers I?ve ever tasted and fries to die for, and I?m a girl who absolutely love me good a burger and fries. So go out, grab yourself one, and bon appetite or should I say dig in!
