I believe I have been to almost every place in the city and suburbs of Philadelphia that offers a chicken parm dinner and let's be honest...it gets quite boring. Fear not my friends here is a new place to get that same comfort food that we crave so often with a unique and authentic taste. more

I have been to the Fitzwater several times now and every time we have gone there the food has been excellent. Try the chicken parm or the chicken milenese. I couldn't get enough of the red sauce the mussels were cooked in....and the spinach gnocci's were delicious. The beets with gorgnzola were a complete surprise - We always share a few desserts. The service is top notch. Oh, and the potatoe soup with sweet italian sausage could be a meal. Free parking in the city is just the icing on the cake. more

I couldnt have been happier with my experience at the Fitzwater cafe. It is one of the best byobs in the city. The menu is great. It is true authentic italian cuisine that is also creative and innovative. The food is unbelievable and I love the specials. Service was great too. This will be a frequent stop for me because it is great atmosphere with food that is to die for. There is no menu like it in Philly. I love it. more

My friends called for girls night out .I was told we were trying a little cafe in philly . I was excited, a night in the city. When we pulled up to find free valet I was tickled pink. When we entered I was surprised they chose a resturant serving Italian. See we are all Italian and I always think no one can cook like my family.....To my surprise the food was GREAT I couldn't stop eating. My friends were shocked I wasn't complaining instead I was mmmmmmmm all throughout dinner, my dinner thier dinner and if I could of tried everyone food in the resturant I probably would . Ok people if your looking for FREE PARKING, GREAT FOOD AND PERFECT AMBIANCE I suggest fitzwater cafe . I'll be there again next week with some of my other friends. This BYOB is open for dinner Wed - Sat. and is the perfect spot for any gathering. If you like ""home cooking"" or ""out of the ordinary"" Itailian food you have to give this place a try! We recently were referred by a friend to go to the Fitzwater Cafe for dinner, we didn't even know they were open for dinner. We were truly amazed by the food...hand down the best Italian in the city. It's a byob and open for dinner wednesday-Saturday. They have a new Chef who put a modern twist on Italian Food. We had the Tuscan White Bean soup, Grilled Calamari and the Gnocch as starters...they were amazing. The food is definitely affordable for the quality. I strongly suggest you make a reservation before this best kept secret gets out! more

I recently ordered a cake from the Fitzwate Cafe and was amazed at how great the bakery chef is! For the price, you get a specialty cake that would cost much more at other South Philly bakeries. Just went to Fitzwater Cafe up for brunch. It was pretty average. I had been informed that the baking would be the high point - but the muffin, toast, and french toast we had was nothing special. nothing special is the perfect way to describe their sunday brunch. everything is made well, but nothing stands out. biggest positive is probably plenty of nearby parking. Best weekend breakfast I've ever had. Can not believe the price for what we ordered but even more important, the food was just delicious! The French Toast and the Cafe Crossant is totally out of this world and I meant it. We traveled 50 miles to go here on a recomendation. (nothing else to do) It was worth every mile of our trip. There's parking out front as well. Pros: Food, location, service, price Cons: can get crowded at times but the wait is well worth it more

This is a small, quaint cafe with a tin ceiling and a long cream bar. The pretty interior, which looks recently renovated with attention to preserving old fixtures and details is a surprise since the exterior is a basic boxy building. It is a small cafe, but very well-appointed. It took just 5 minutes to get a table for 3, which is the shortest I have ever waited in Philly for brunch. The food was delicious - freshly prepared and warm, coming right off the skillet. I had the french toast with bananas and coffee - I could only finish half the toast but it was super and indulgent. My friend had the goat cheese omelet with zucchini and peppers. It was savory and flavorful. Somehow, we weren't charged for the coffees and fresh ojs - maybe they came with? Each brunch menu item was from $5 to $10, so very reasonably priced for the gorgeous setting, short wait, and delicious food. Would come back again and again, esp b/c parking was easy with a couple of spaces at the place and no restrictions on the public parking which was safe and easy to come by. Best place for a relaxing weekend breakfast! Quaint little atmosphere. They have a fantastic fruit bowl, which was good since then I didn't feel so guilty about ordering their yummy banana muffin. Weekend specials are always awesome - like Italian eggs or Caprese-style omelettes or french toast with bananas and nutella or fruit. I tried a lot of breakfast joints in Philly before finding this one and my search is over. Fantastic pastry case too in case you're looking for something to go.
