The FP town homes are spacious at first glance and the agent selling them said many fine qualities about the apartments. She had an endless stream of promises that I foolishly bought HOOK, LINE and SINKER.
BEWARE!! BEWARE!!!
I listened to an agent that said the carpets are frequently replaced every 4 years, the townhouses are quiet, the neighborhood is safe filled with friendly people. IT IS A RIVER OF LIES.
In the short time I lived at the Avondale allotments, my basement flooded 3 times because the main pipes are not maintained by the landlord. This was told to me by the plumber. I received 3 bills for the backups totaling $600. The agent who showed me the place said FP handles all plumbing, when I challenged the bill John showed me a small clause in the lease.
The carpet they said was brand new a neighbor informed me has been in my place for 12 years. I called and John said we don't replace carpet when a tenet has moved in. I asked for it to be cleaned or to see a bill for the cleaning and FP refused.
The neighborhood has 2 drug dealers who run their illegal business at all hours of the night. You can hear loud cars racing up and down the street, horns, and repeated screaming for drugs from the cars. When I spoke to FP, ""I was told what do you want me to do.""
I was told by the agent I could have a small dog or cat. I have a small dog and John sent me 2 notices about it. There is a 2 word clause in the lease.
I finally left after a year with all bills paid. My rent was always paid on time. I was charged over $1500 for misc charges. I had a professional crew clean the apartment. I left it in the excellent condition.
I will never pay this bill. AVOID THIS LANDLORD. THEY LIE AND USE A BAIT AND SWITCH TECHNIQUE TO FOOL PEOPLE INTO RENTING.
If you are dumb enough to rent from them, get everything in writing that they promise you on the lease. Cross out anything you don't agree with on the lease. I LIVED A YEAR IN HELL UNDER THEIR ROOF.
You are better off looking in the Saturday paper in the real estate section.
