Fish Market Restaurant

Visited The Fish Market last night 2/27/09 in Calera for the 1st time since George Sarris took ownership. Only two other customers in restaurant. With the restaurant being almost empty, there was no rush for the cook. The ocean perch was so greasy it was dripping cooking oil and was way overcooked. The catfish fillets tasted very fishy and was undercooked. You are given a choice of a dinner salad or 2 sides. The salad is a joke. On the plate was 2 varieties of lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 pitted olives and 1 salonika pepper. The only thing that was good was the sweet tea, but paying almost $24 you'd think the food should be too. We will not be going back. My partner and I have been to the Calera Fish Market several times and it has always Been pretty good. No real complaints until tonight April 5 2008. We went in for the all you can eat pop corn shrimp. We both eat the first order and then split a second order. That?s about all we can eat. In the past I have ordered one reorder of the shrimp and a side of cole slaw. Tonight I went up and place the reorder for one bowel of shrimp and a small side of cole slaw. You can?t have any more slaw exclaimed the heavy set lady from the back. I thought this was all you can eat. You just lost a customer over a 25 cent bowl of cole slaw. I will not be back.
