One of my favorite fish restaurants 11/24/2009

This is my regular stop. I highly highly higly recommend their Chipotle Shrimp (or 200k I cant remember), its in their appetizer section. it really hits the spot with its touch of sweet, barbecue, sour ish sauce. i must say, one of the best shrimp dishes ive ever had. Pros: yummo! more

Excellent Gumbo 3/4/2009

This was a great find! The gumbo is really excellent and the jalapeno soup (really not as spicy as it sounds) was a pleasant surprise. Service was also excellent. I recommend it to seafood lovers and all Cajuns. more

Best Seafood @ Best Prices 8/22/2008

This is the best local place for simple ""fried"" seafood. The batter isn't overpowering and everything is seasoned perfectly. Portions are reasonable, the jalapeno soup is to die for and the prices are extremely reasonable. Po'boys have the taste of ""Nawlins"" and the seafood board specials descriptions are better than they taste & a bit overpriced for me but not for the neighboorhood. Happy Hour is fantastic. Wait staff friendly but lacking. Carlos, one of the managers provides first rate service. We bring all of our out of town visitors & my clients here for an enjoyable meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Pros: Great food at reasonable prices Cons: Lackluster waitstaff more

Consistantly Great 4/28/2007

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Sugar Land. The posted specials are absolutely the best. I have been many times over the past year and have not been disappointed yet. Well, don't think I will order the fried shrimp diner again. Overall, the food, menu selection, service, value all good. more

Lunch menu - best fried oysters ever 4/23/2007

This was the best oysters I have EVER had anyplace except at Mama's. This was our first time at this restaurant, so our waitress brought us small samples of the soups and a free Oyster Nacho. Thank goodness my friend did not like oysters and I got hers too! She had a catfish poorboy and I had the oyster poorboy, and we both ate every bite! The sample of the Jalepeno Soup was good enough to lick the bowl. The gumbo I thought had too much File, and I am not a fan of Clam chowder so I could not rate that. All in all it will be a place we go at least once a week for lunch. For the two of us with tea it was $17, so that is a reasonable lunch. more

I'm sticking to turf if this is surf 10/26/2006

Waitstaff not experienced and very unfamiliar with the menu. The ponchatrain sauce advertised as shrimp and crawfish hand neither...didn't say it had flavor but it was missing that too!! The tilapia was a flopia. In all seriousness, this is worse than Red Lobster. I came with a companion who was giving it a second chance. Fortunately, after this experience I will not have to suffer through it a second time. Pros: location, outdoor seating Cons: food, taste, flavor more

Better Than Red Lobster 8/6/2006

Looking for a quick lunch, my fiance and I decided to try this place, but we weren't going for a ""culinary experience"" or anything. The dining room is small and it can get a bit loud, but still comfortable. I had the crab cakes and my fiance had the fried catfish. Everything was exactly as I had expected it to be, your typical chain restaurant with decent food and young, inexperienced waitstaff. I actually enjoyed the crabcakes quite a bit. They were made with plenty of crab, rather than getting a mouthfull of stuffing. Overall, nothing spectacular but a decent alternative to the camp and commercialness of Red Lobster. Pros: Decent food, reasonably fresh Cons: Waitstaff could use training more
