Gracie is staying on the rug, and is no longer pulling on the leash. The instructors showed us with their dogs rather than just trying to talk us through it.

The frequency and pattern of the reviews (they almost all start with the name of the dog and are all very generic dog names) indicate they were all written by the same person, or ...

My dog now listens to me 6/16/2011

Maltilda can stay on her rug. I learned how my dog now listens to me. Seeing how quick she can learn. The instructors helped me realize that she is smart and can make good decisions and that I should give her the opportunity to do it right. more

The instructors helped me 6/9/2011

I enjoyed working with Elten in a distracted environment. I think Elten benefitted from being distracted. I also enjoyed the corrections without talking. The instructors helped me adjust his collar so that it fitted correctly. The instructors also showed how to give correct leash feedback. more

Hector improved with his overall obedience! 6/6/2011

He learned commands, pull less on walks, seems more tolerant (less aggressive) with other dogs and people. He also appears much less stressed. I liked the manner in which the training was conducted. The training techniques were always appropriate, unlike some other classes I have looked into- some are too aggressive. The instructors gave me many pointers to help my particular situations with Hector and to help us both improve. more

I enjoyed learning 6/1/2011

Hunter is now much better with his behavior around other dogs. I enjoyed learning how to work with him around other dogs. I was shown how to correct the teething and chewing problems. more

The instructors taught me 5/27/2011

Ziggy learned how to sit, come and not run out the door before me to possibly escape into the street. The instructors taught me how to train Ziggy and to simply reinforce the training and how to use the rug properly. more

Trixie can now sit, stay, and walking on the leash is now a pleasure. I enjoyed learning how to interact and train her calmly. I learned how to train her calmly and what commands to use at the right time. more

Took all the time needed 5/24/2011

Rocky has stopped pulling me around as though I was a boat anchor. The instructors took all the time needed to get me trained so that could enjoy Rocky more. more

They helped me to correct his whining 5/20/2011

Oliver will sit and stay on the rug. I learned how to control and correct my dog the right way. I was taught how Oliver should behave. They gave me a lot of suggestions. They helped me to correct his whining. more

Great job 5/18/2011

Lincoln is now staying, lying down, remaining calm while I walk around. I liked the obedience part of the follow up. My suggestion is this, really, the only thing I can think of would be for you to be closer to my Place!! (1 hour away)- great job. more

I really enjoyed the puppy playtime 5/16/2011

My dogs have improved with wait and their rugs. Vince explains things in funny but meaningful ways, gave good examples, as referring to people and how they should treat their dogs like you would want to be treated. more

We are huge fans of First Place Dog Training 5/6/2011

My dog bit someone the day I called First Place Dog Training for help. I finally learned the tools I needed to work with my sheltie. I have trained other dogs to the CDX level in obedience, so my inability to crack this particular dog’s case was a surprise. Vince immediately told me what to do and I saw what I had been missing. I think Vince is the original Dog whisper. All of my dogs will attend his classes now and I highly recommend it to anyone- (even if you think you know what you are doing). The facility was very nice as well. Thanks. Vince. We are huge fans. more

Vince gave good advice 4/15/2011

Vince gave good advice, positive reinforcement, and just how to ignore bad behaviors instead of reprimands, liked the commands being used instead of “good boy” god sit etc. I was given gentle reminders when not doing it right. more
