Editorial review from Citysearch 8/27/2012

Read a lots of poor reviews for this venue, but my wife and I saw a concert there on 8/24 with low expectations and were very pleased. The sound was great, there is adequate room to move around, the lines for drinks were never very bad and neither were the lines for the restrooms. We chose a car service from Chicago as to be guaranteed a ride home and also chose to sit on the lawn. The sound was clear and loud enough back there not to warrant the need for closer seats. Had a great time! Watch out for scammers at the gate trying to push raffle tickets that get you signed up to be harassed by time share sales companies more

Don't worry bout the negative reviews, I loved it! 8/27/2010

So be it my seats were 9th row on the catwalk at Aerosmith, this place was really neat. There are some seats with limited view because of the two story seating. I was worried because of all the negative reviews and I couldnt find any information online about this place.\r \r It was nearly sold out packed and we still managed to get in and out of bathrooms in a timely manner and get drinks. Yes it can be pricey, and yes its loud and yes there lots of people. If your expecting something else you shouldnt go. Be ready for people and drunks, but thats anywhere you go.\r \r I really enjoyed this place I have been to MANY amphitheaters from atlanta, nashville, indiana to illinois and this was one of the best.\r \r Getting into the venue was simple as well. Go see for yourself! more

Iron Maiden 7/20/2010

I attended Iron Maiden on 7-18-10. The venue looks really cool, but the sound in the place was the worst of any venue I have ever been to, ever. Maiden ALWAYS puts on a GREAT show but because of the venue everything sounds garbled. All of the sound just jumbles together. I will see Iron Maiden again and again but NEVER at this venue. If I could rate the venue below 1 star I would. If you are considering seeing a band here don't. See them somewhere else. Everything is EXTREMELY overpriced. $12 for a can of beer is just insane. They really need to do something to fix the sound problems in this place. Pros: Nice looking venue Cons: Worst acoustics of any venue in the nation. more

john mayer concert 7/19/2008

went to the john mayer concert on 7/18 and was VERY dissapointed. drinks were totally overpriced as well as parking but i kind of expected that. what i did nt expect was to pay over a hundred dollars for 2 tickets and for the singing and the voices to be totally garbbled, u could tell the melody just barely so you knew what song it was but i expected more for the money. john tried to put on a good show but i could not understand a word he said.we had seats but the view was just mediocre, we moved later to get a better view of the one screen that was a decent size. i m not sure if they had too much bass going or it s just terrible accoustics there but it was terrible so we left early. we never go to this venue again Pros: parking was close but expensive Cons: sound quality!!!!!!!!! more

First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre Tinley Park 7/26/2007

I attended a Jimmy Buffet concert and was nearly crushed in the crowd on the ramp. We never made it to our lawn seats because they oversold. It was not just disappointing, it was terrifying. I was first pinned against a fence by the crowd, then angry ticketholders started jumping the fence and I barely made it back to the concession area. It reminded me of the Chicago nightclub trampling and I honestly feared for my life. People were calling 911. I will never attend a concert at this venue again. We - along with many other people in the same situation - were promised a refund on our tickets (we ended up leaving) but thus far have not recieved it. Pros: Jimmy Buffet was great Cons: dangerously oversold more
