I am an older patient who had no fear of going to the dentist until I made a bad decision to not make the hour drive to see Dr. Glasmeier who I had been seeing for several years. I mistakenly took what he does for granted and let work and my time factor override good judgment for getting the best possible care for my teeth. I went to a local dentist (5 minutes away) in Springfield who pulled a wisdom tooth that should have been surgically removed not pulled out with pliers. I am not kidding! I suffered for over a year from that extraction. Had I gone to Dr. G I would have been sent to an oral surgeon if he felt it was necessary. When I went to Dr. G because of the pain he was quite upset that my wisdom tooth had even been removed. It was not causing any problems just a little difficult to take care of on the backside. He pointed out I had this tooth all of my life and had dealt with that issue and it wasn’t causing any problems so it should not have been removed. Dr. G. is a guy who honestly assesses your teeth and offers options. He takes the time to explain procedures and is so current on the latest technologies and materials to take care of our teeth. Best of all, he would never suggest a procedure that is not necessary. While I have moved away to Florida I can assure you I wish he had an office here. I miss Dr. G and his staff terribly. We had such great times in that chair. I have never laughed so much in a dentist’s office in my entire life. I always left there with a smile. I was never in any great pain either. He is always extremely conscious of comfort. I used to call him the “OK” guy because he was always asking me every few seconds if I was “OK.” That is just one of the many reasons for those who have fear to see him. Recently, he took the time to email me advice on some issues I am currently having and gave me suggestions on materials I might want to consider for a new bridge. How many dentists do you know who would take the time out of their busy day to write a former patient who is thousands of miles away? Instead he writes me back and tells me he considers me a patient for life. Should I make it back to Tennessee he will be the dentist I see even if I have to drive 3 hours! If you want a man who loves what he does, genuinely cares that he is the best that he can be, he is the man!\r
