First Help Urgent Care Clinic

I would like to warn people not go to the office in Polk City either. Me and my husband used them because they were in network. However, as with a lot of companies, they went out of network. In Febuary.\r We were not informed of this. We asked each and every time we went in there if they were still in network (it showed online they were) and the lady behind the desk (who seemed more interested in cpmpalining to us about prices of healthcare for her and her husband) and the other was on the phone constantly, her personal cell phone that is) was not professional at all.\r As I stated each time they were asked and we even called BCBS from their office, on his cell phone and let her talk to the woman behind the desk.\r Finally they tell us that they aren't in network. This was in August.\r Now, I get eight letters on the same day from a collection agency. Yes, you saw right, Eight all try to collect payment for First Help Urgent Care. The total well close to 1000.00. We never recieved a single bill from them. So don't believe what they tell you. I am going to dispute this because there were four ""attempts"" for BCSB and I have eight letters, each for a different account and amount. You do the math. We did pay our copay's. more

My son got treatment in their office on 07/19/2012. \r It has been 7 months since we asked for a refund of $75 bill ( we paid $125, co-pay was $50) . \r After that, we called their office every week ( 7 months !!!). Billing people keeps telling us that she already submitted documents to Doctor and just waiting for his signature on the Check. What is going on ? more

Been using this place for medical care since it opened!!! Now they call you by number, the girl behind the counter treats you with no respect. The office manager does not care. They claim HIPPA regulations make them call you by number, but that is a lie. My feeling is that if they lie to you about that, then what else are they lieing about? Would not recommend them to treat your dog! more

I went to First Help Urgent Care for a sinus affection and recieved quality medical care. The staff was knowledgeable and polite. I was seen quickly and was able to get my medicine on site, to save time. more

I would not recommend the First Help Urgent Clinic at 320 1st Street South Winter Haven, FL 33880 to anyone! My daughter is two years old and needed an antibiotic for her laryngitis. The ""Assistant Front Desk Supervisor"" told me they DO accept Medicaid however because I didn't have a card (it hasn't arrived yet, she was just recently enrolled) they could not see her. I went home and called Medicaid, they advised me to go online & print her a temporary card to use in the mean time... I was assured that ANYONE who accepted Medicaid would accept it, all they needed to do was call the number on the temporary card and verify eligibility. I drove back to the office, where I was again turned away! They even referred me to a hospital 20 minutes away in Haines City! I asked to speak with the ""Office Manager"" who advised me that it was ""Their Personal Policy"" NOT to accept anything but the actual card. POLICIES ARE WRITTEN TO PROTECT THE COMPANY AT STAKE, AS WELL AS THE CUSTOMERS RIGHTS! They are NOT however put in place to be used as a tool for DISCRIMINATION! I can't say that I am pleased with everything that congress is suggesting we do for Health Care Reform... but I am 100% in agreement that SOMETHING needs to be done! It is time for a change, and I hope those changes start right here in places like FIRST HELP URGENT CLINIC. more
