Despite the fact I told the service adviser that the Solway location had overfilled my 2008 Toyota RAV4 Sport the last oil change, the Farragut store went ahead and did the same thing. And this was after the adviser had told me that it is indeed potentially harmful to the engine.
Instead of using the dipstick as the ultimate gauge, the adviser argued that the capacity is listed as 6.4 quarts and by gosh that's what he said needs to be used. I called Fox Toyota and was told that Fox does what any good shop does, and that is trust the dipstick. Fox technicians start with five quarts and then add until the oil reaches the full mark -- usually a bit less than six quarts.
So clearly there's a problem with First Choice Automotive. Perhaps they're not draining the oil completely. Regardless, I don't think people should trust any vehicle they care about with this kind of service -- and did I mention the attitude?
