First Baptist Leander is a second home. When our family arrived at the church, we were instantly greeted and directed into the worship service. Once inside, we felt as if we were apart of the family. If you're looking for a big mega-church, then First Baptist is not for you; but if you are searching for a place where you are not just a number, but an actual person that is apart of a church family working together, then FBCL would be a great fit for you. \r

The pastor is sociable and funny. He delivers great biblically based messages Sunday after Sunday and consistently incorporates the gospel of Jesus Christ into every sermon. The music is a blend of worship choruses and old-time hymns. There is an excellent children's and youth program that is very active and there is a growing group of 20 and 30 somethings. The church hosts Upward Basketball and AWANA for children, and the youth group has weekly meetings at The Well on every wednesday night as well as monthly fun events like bowling or an 80's fake prom night. They also take their students to camp every summer and on mission trips. \r

All in all First Baptist Leander can best be summarized as a second home, a place where you feel loved a cared for, and a place whose goal is to glorify God rather than ourselves. They're not a perfect church, but you should definitely check them out if you want to roll your sleeves back and be apart of what God is doing in Leander.
