The 2 guys who showed up to pack my 14' U-Haul for a cross-country trip were in for some work! They tackled it with enthusiasm and skill, and did such an excellent job, nothing moved the whole way, and fit with room to spare, which was unbelievable! The cost was very reasonable, they arrived on time, absolutely a very smooth day! I would recommend them highly! more

The only thing that turned me off was when I went to the bank to get money out for the move. 1st American Movers told me to fill out paperwork in case I wanted to use my credit card, but I did not want to use credit, I wanted to pay in cash. When I got to the bank, my account was locked because they had taken the amount from the credit account. They were okay people but they arrived two hours later than scheduled for the move, which I think changed the dynamics. Later they said they were running out of time so they said they'd put my items in the garage and I could move it from there. Also, there was damage to some furniture as well as a spot on my wall which I didn't know about until later so now I am responsible for it. I would've appreciated it if they told me about the damage. more

Really good!! It is almost blatantly obvious that perhaps the most important factor when it comes to moving is the moving company you pick. It could either break or make the whole process. It was a pleasure to use their service. I certainly hope to never move out again, at least under the circumstance I found myself in but First American Movers certainly made my life easier. more

Really good service!! My friend and I were looking to relocate somewhere on the SFV area but didn t wanna just throw money away to some random moving company that was gonna charge us a fortune and barely provide a service. Luckily a friend of money recommended us First American Movers. They were significantly cheaper than the other moving companies (especially about prices, they were not adding anything on the go) and provided a really good service that we were not expecting from the other companies. more

I couldn't be UNhappier with my movers. The ""owner"" quoted all their services and charges over the phone, then at the end of the move there were extra charges. Although I told him we were moving from a two story home to another two story home, he did not mention a ""stairs"" fee. They wrapped up big items without asking us, then we got charged at the end. On the phone, the ""owner"" said ""yes, we wrap up furniture for you, of course."" He didn't say that it would cost extra. That to me is misinformation and lying. They also overcharged my CC. The movers got lost to my house and to the new house. Both times they called me for directions. We do not live in a new development where gps or mapquest would not work. \r When I called the ""owner"" for an explanation of the charges, he accused my of lying. He said the movers were working at my house longer than factual. He said, ""I will have my guys come over and tell you what time they left."" He kept saying he has to speak with his boss and would call me back. Lying again because he owns the company. He never called back. I called him back and began screening my calls. I had someone else him immediately after I did on two occasions, and of course he immediately answered. I had to pass off the problem to my SO because he just wouldn't answer my calls. He agreed to refund a portion, but of course we never saw it on our statement. 1 month later a customer rep called to see if we would write a review for them. (Uh? Hello?) I explained my problem and she called the business ""office"" right away and I saw a refund 3 days later. She's the reason I gave them 1 star. more

I couldn't be happier with my move. Te movers were super nice and professional, they handled everything for me and the prices were reasonable. super worth it! I recommend first american movers to everyone planning to move and i will definitely be using them again in the future. more

As a journalist I find myself constantly on the road and like to have an established home base. I detest moving more than 7 eleven coffee, and tequila hangovers! So every blue moon (when I have to move) I usually hire someone. I found First American Movers in the phone book and their prices sounded about right. I'm very pleased with their service, otherwise I wouldn't bother writing the review. more

Having someone else pack and move your stuff is the greatest thing ever. My parents asked me to move our old house out, and there was no way I was about to do that alone. I made an executive decision to call a mover and have them help me. The First American moving guys were super chill and basically just had to supervise and help out with the heavier things. All in all an easy move. more

I've never used a mover before, but since I just got hired to a new job and they offered to reimburse me for moving I decided why not! I found these guys through my local Yahoo and they seemed nice so I thought I'd go with them. Boy, having guys move your stuff for you is waaaayyyy better than doing it yourself. All I had to do was show them what I needed moved and they handled the rest. They wrapped everything in plastic wrap, and were gentle with my stuff. I wish I could always have these guys move my stuff! more
