Dr. Shirley is mentally unbalanced. No compassion, mean to employees and just a plain loon. Might be a decent doctor to animals but thank Godl, not humans!

Top Notch In Our Book 12/22/2011

Walk a mile in their shoes firs before judgingt. They are bombarded daily with phone calls, panicky pet owners/pets and often a race against the clock to save lives and bring new lives into the world. We feel blessed with the compassion, knowledge and care our pets have received over the years. If Firgrove wasn't a good hospital, they wouldn't be there. We are only one of the many satisfied and happy clients as well as our healthy animals. You can't please everyone can you? And are you always in a terrific mood knowing what problems you may be faced with today? Give them some slack. It's a tough, but rewarding job and I will only take my pets to the BEST!!!! Cudos to the entire staff. B Lawlis more

Courtney S is an ex-employee fired for stealing 12/6/2011

It is important to understand the Courtney S. was fired for being a theif. She was caught stealing clinic funds, destroying patient records and stealing the funds our client's donated for care of injured, homeless or abandoned animals. more

You Can'ts Get Any Better 6/22/2011

I've had dogs all my life, but I've never been to a better vet than Firgrove. All their doctors, especially Dr. Shirley, are exceptional in the compassionate care they give their patients. I mentioned this to Dr. Webster and he said that if Firgrove employees don't care about the animals, they don't stay employed there. My 9 year old boxer had to have his heart monitored several times. Each time Dr. Shirley explained the entire procedure, what she might find, and how to 'fix' the problem. When his time finally came, the entire staff told us what a wonderful boy we had. The end was done with great compassion from the entire staff. You can't go wrong when you take your pets to Firgrove. more

HORRIBLE RECEPTIONIST 5/4/2011

I was am new to the area and i contacted them to set up an appointment for our pup. I have never had such awful service. I spoke with a woman at the front desk. she was rude, raised her voice and had an attitude while she asked for me to spell my name and give her my information. I have heard such great things about the doctors but this older woman M was absolutely awful. Im sorry but i was really looking forward to becoming a client with you. more

Compassionate Care 12/31/2009

It was amazing to watch the vet and assistants work on my poor little cat this morning. He didn't make it, but their care was the best anyone could hope for. They talked me through all the procedures and allowed me to make decisions at every stage, after thoroughly explaining the pros and cons of each choice. Two big furry thumbs up. more

Best vet ever 4/22/2009

This hospital was great ! They fixed Ralph and made him able to run and play again. His leg was broken and it had surgery and healed 100%. I love these guys. I could visit anytime and they were all very nice. This is my only vet for sure for life. more

agree with courtney 3/9/2009

I agree with courtney as I used to work there. I saw the mood swings first hand! But I don't want to totally knock it as there are also a lot of other good drs (yes, dr. shirley too, she just lacks people skills)and employees who work there. They do care about their patients. more

Very iffy. 2/16/2009

Our toy poodle is being taken care of there. We went in the back to see her, and they were doing open surgery on a table in the room where the other animals were, even though it was a heavily trafficked room. The dogs were wetting and defecating on themselves on a regular basis because no one was giving them attention or taking care of them like they say they do. They're too busy to talk to us, and give us very vague answers about everything when they do. They were planning on keeping our dog overnight, but they told us the doctor hadn't even checked on her today. more

are you kidding me 12/13/2007

DR Shirley abuses employees-specifically genie glass-burned her arm for leaving someting in the sterlizer to long. Also, if you have you pet euthanized there, be sure to be present, otherwisee they will wait until u leave and adopt them out to a new famly. They also take blood from animals with out the owners consent. BEWARE~~~~Dr Shirley is a total nut job. I had to deal with her for years!!! To Bad for MArge, DrWebster and all the other who are still there. more

Linda M. 10/8/2007

I have taken all of my pets to this office and never found a bad Doctor. They always ask me what I would like to do and together we can figure out the best treatment for my kitties who are 19,17,15 and 13 years of age. Thanks to them my kitties have had many happy and healthy years and many more to come. more

Type the title here for your review of Firgrove Veterinary Clinic 6/14/2007

We are very pleased with the vets at Firgrove. We are currently using them for care of our 2nd Lab retriever. They were always wonderful with our first dog and very caring when she developed cancer. Our new dog has also received the care our first was lucky enough to get. We think they all are tops! Dr. Shirley is a very skilled surgeon and all the vets have exceeded our expectations! I think over the past 12 years we have seen them all and not found a poor one in the bunch! more

Best vet clinic in the area! 3/4/2007

We have been going to Firgrove for nearly 10 years and have always been very pleased with the services we have received. Dr Shirley is stellar. She saved a puppy I imported from Brazil with parvo, and has cared for our dogs over the years with compassion, taking care to educate us, follow up and give us options. We have also seen Dr Webster and are happy with him too. There are several vet clinics closer to where we live, but for us, driving 45 minutes is worth it for the care and service we receive. Jan and Keith. more

Wonderful!!! 2/21/2007

We are new to the area, so we found Dr. Webster and the Firgrove staff on the recommendation of a friend. Over the course of many visits, they have exceeded our expectations in the care of our two retrievers. They are always friendly and prompt, get along well with our dogs, and are receptive to our questions. Highly recommended! more

The best of the best! 10/22/2005

This clinic saved my St. Bernard's life! They are attentive and VERY caring. Each doctor is different of course, and our favorite is Dr. David Yemchuk. He is our dog's best friend on visit day, and although we trust both of our dogs to any of the doctors, we always request Dr. Yemchuk. more

Veterinary care at both ends of the spectrum 8/20/2005

I’m kind of split on this vet. I don’t feel that the Veterinarians here are as kitty friendly as I would like; but I can’t really complain about the care my cat received either. We’ve seen to different vets here, and have had different experiences with each. One (Dr. Yemchuk), was kinda rough with my cat while giving her a de worming pill. She didn’t like it of course, and he just was kinda indifferent to her distress and shoved it down her throat anyways. The other vet (Dr. Webster), was more caring. I saw him when my cat was sick and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. She had stopped eating and drinking and lost a lot of weight. Granted, he had to run a variety of blood tests, xrays, and start an IV that cost a lot of money, he was determined to find the cause of my cat’s illness. We started her on an antibiotic, and she slowly got better. Dr. Webster kept in touch with me throughout the next few weeks to make sure my cat was on the mend. I appreciated his concern and dedication to my cat’s well being. Because of him, I would recommend this clinic. Just ask that your pet see him instead of Dr. Yemchuk. more
