I just recently moved to the valley, and I was asking around about a good Mexican restaurant in the area, and received multiple recommendations about this place called ?Filiberto?s?. Everyone described this place as being an authentic Mexican fast food restaurant. Well me being from California, where authentic Mexican places are on every corner, I was sceptical to say the least. On 29 Oct, I finally decided to go check this place out for myself. I went to the location right off of McClintock and Apache in Tempe,AZ.
I ordered the #19-chicken burrito, chicken enchilada, rice, and beans. The service was fast, it only took around 5 minutes from the time I placed the order, until I received my meal. I was skeptical at this point because of how quick they got my food to me. As I opened up the box containing my meal, I was surprised at how good everything looked. The meal looked organized, appetizing, and well put together.
I started out by pouring some of there hot sauce on top of the whole meal, and then begun eating. The burrito was big, but not intimidating, the chicken was very moist, and the burrito had a good mixture of rice, beans and chicken. The enchilada was smothered in sauce with lettuce and cheese on top, in a corn tortilla. It was very moist and the sauce they used was extraordinary. They gave me a large portion of re-fried beans with melted cheese on top. Last was the rice, normally I am not a big fan of Mexican style rice, but this rice was not overpowered with spices, made just right.
Overall Filiberto?s is good Mexican restaurant, the prices are inexpensive, the service is fast, and the food is delicious. From now on I will recommend Filiberto?s to anyone else looking for a good Mexican place.
