What it Is
The term SCUBA is an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Scuba divers carry their own air supply with them, allowing them to dive into deeper waters for a longer duration of time. It's no casual endeavor;
participants must be certified with a minimum of 24 hours of class time, including water and lecture time.
The Equipment
Students are required to buy personal equipment (snorkel, fins and a mask). Major equipment like tanks, regulators and buoyancy compensators are provided by the scuba center. But if you are serious about SCUBA, the retail store offers an excellent selection of equipment from major lines such as Scubapro, Dacor, Sherwood and Typhoon.
