This is my favorite French restaurant ever. For the food, price and the portion, it's the best yet. I've been here quite a few times already and tried many dishes: duck, coq au vin, beef bourguigon, filet mignon, lamb chops - they are all superb, never disappointing. Not to mention their French onion soup - the best I've ever tried, lots of cheese. The place is a ""mere-et-pere"" restaurant who also bake their pastries fresh daily. Make sure to try their dessert, esp. the Napoleon - always fresh as the flakes are nice and crisp. And if you get there before 6:30, you can catch the early-bird dinner special which is a real bargain. As I mentioned earlier, they serve up good portions as well, can't believe tonight was the first time I have packed leftovers from a French restaurant and I am a big eater too. :) Had the coq-au-vin tonight and they gave me half a chicken that was just too much for me. This place is comparable to other fine French restaurants in SF. Pros: great food, good price, good portion more

The quality of the food and the expert preparation are the highlights of this wonderful, intimate restaurant. The owners are always present, which insures the quality of the dining experience. We have brought numerous friends from out of town to enjoy this experience at Fifi's. What ever you do, don't miss the wonderful Sunday brunch. Fifi's prepares a light Hollandaise Sauce that is worth the extra calories - not thick and heavy, but light and a satisfying addition to the eggs poached to your preference. Michele Tardivet does a exquisite job at this small cafe at the top of the hill in Pacific Grove. The cuisine is well prepared in the classic style. You must, however, save room for one of Michele's french pastries from the attached bakery. more
