Colorful atmosphere and tasty cuisine 5/23/2005

We both tried the empanada appetizer, the pork / pineapple kabobs over rice, and fried ice cream. The food was quite tasty and well prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was sporadic, but the place was new when we went. The servers were pleasant, but not all were as attentive as we'd like. more

Variety Is The Spice of Life 5/16/2005

I selected the Cazuela De Mariscos en Pina. In laymen's terms, it was broiled seafood cazuela made with calamari, shrimp, clams, red and green peppers, in white sauce. It was topped with parmesan cheese and served in a pineapple half. The display was beautiful and the portion was more than enough. Great place to take your spouse and try something different. more

Don't let the looks fool you 5/13/2005

The outside of the resturant looks like the typical Mexican resturant, stucko walls and bright colors. However, the inside was much nicer. It had a much cleaner look, the paintings and dimm lighting gave it a somewhat romatic feel. The sevice was very fast. However, I don't believe they understood very much english. This is one point that needs to be addressed. The dish I had was Pineapple and Pork served on a kabob. I came with ample portions on top of a bed of rice. It was very good and I would highly reccomend ordering if if you decide to go. Overall, it was a great resturant especially considering it just opened recently. With a little bit of time this will be an excellant place to eat. Pros: Food, Inside Atmosphere Cons: External Looks more

Out Of Business - finally 4/12/2005

The menu has nothing for children on it, so don't take the family thinking that it's like a Mexican place. Prices for an Entre' range from $9.99 - $29.99. You may have a hard time choosing because the menu will not be familiar to you. I tried to keep it simple & get Chicken Fijita. It came with a reasonable portion of Chicken and a pile of rice burning on the skillet. Ummmm Yummm - Burnt rice. A friend also tried to stay in a reasonable price range & got steak on a stick - 3 pieces totaling about 4 onces for $12 -- it was only skirt steak, not a filet. Pros: different, creative, Unusual Cons: Price, Service, Atmosphere more

They have wrinkles to iron out 3/23/2005

I ordered a vegetarian dish (and as is my custom, I pointed to it while reading it on the menu, to avoid misunderstanding). They presented me with the meat version, which took a manager and 2 waitstaff to correct (there was a bit of bickering among them). What finally came out was a bland dish with what looked like slices of American cheese melted on top. I was completely unimpressed with everything, even considering they have recently opened. It may be a fun place at night, but my lunch was bad. Pros: Festive atmosphere Cons: Poor ingredients, Inexperienced Staff, Overpriced more

  • In Short
Splashy colors that seem to have exploded onto every inch of this space create a bright, cheerful effect. All of the menu items are international: Argentina's chili relleno estilo poblano, Columbia's swordfish with pineapple, or shrimp, Brazilian-style. The virtual United Nations of dishes makes choosing just one a challenge. The friendly staff is attentive and will make recommendations. Immerse yourself in the party-like atmosphere and after your meal, disco away some calories.
