Very nice place for golfing, but not so much for the batting cages. They do not keep up the maintenance on the pitching machines, such as changing the wheels or the balls. Just today I broke 4 balls and this is probably my last time going here.
So far this Spring I have been hit 3 times in the calf, rear end and thigh on the very fast machine....which is a tad on the slow side. On the fast machine I LITERALLY had to stand with both feet on the plate because the machine was so far outside. Out of 19 balls 12 were at my shoulders, 4 well below the knees and the others were decent......now im 6 feet tall so thats pretty darn high. I wish I could say this only happens once in awhile, but sadly it is an everyday issue.
When you tell the people that work there you are told "oh...ok....I will let them know" or "there is no one here that can adjust the machine right now"...........all of which is total BS because I used to go there 4x a week at all different times and there is NEVER anyone to help adjust the machines! I have been going to Fenway for many years now and up until last year things seemed good. I dont know what happened but the cages have fallen apart big time. I would not recommend Fenway for the batting cages, head on up the RT20 cages in Palmer or Extra Innings in Agawam. Palmer machines are MUCH more accurate, they use yellow balls which dont blend into the machine like Fenways orange ones........red machines with dirty orange balls, makes no sense. Extra innings you will need to bring a friend because they have not fixed their Iron Mike Machines.........and I highly doubt they ever will seeing how they have been broken since last summer.
Also there is only one fast and one very machine and the rest are slow or medium
Now golfing at Fenway is great, the greens are well kept and plenty of room. The mini golf is second to none.
