Greatest Mexican Food in Citrus Heights 4/21/2010

The beans and the rice are awesome! Ive had some of their other entrees as well and like them. They also have a food delivery program through Food To You when I am unable to travel to get my food, but its a nominal charge and nothing too expensive. My mother and I ate there forever, before Felipes moved to where they are now (they used to be across the street in a smaller building way back in the day) Overall this place is a good place to take your family and the prices are really reasonable. Pros: Tasty Food! more

Great food, good prices 2/21/2009

We were getting bored of the same old places and wanted to try someplace new so I did a search and read great things about Felipe's. My husband and I love mexican food and were very impressed. We didn't have to wait for a table and were seated right away. The service was prompt and friendly, all of which is important to us because we don't go out very often, so when we do we like to have an enjoyable experience. Bad service is a deal breaker for me but there were no worries here. The food was amazing. I loved the tamale because it was flavorful and moist. The cheese enchilada was also good, very gooey and wonderful. I can't say anything bad about the food because it was all great. The decor of the restaurant was lacking some; very basic and nothing special. But if I had to choose between great food and good atmosphere, I'll take the food. We'll definitely be back for more! Pros: food, prices, service Cons: atmosphere, decor more

Our favorite mexican restaurant 7/25/2008

Chile Verde cannot be beat, Awesome Tacos, Darn good Tamales, OK Chicken Mole, Chimichangas to be savored and then devoured. Best hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in town, and I have been around a long time, the only place better has been defunct for 15 years. more

Mucho Delicioso! 4/29/2008

Awesome food!! I have eaten here since I was about 3, It was my great grandma's and my grandmas favorite place to eat ever since I can remember A++++ Pros: Great food good prices! more

love everything and everyone one there... 5/31/2007

I love felipes they are a great resturant with friendly employees. I think its fun because everyone remembers there regulars. I think that it is nice that even on the busyiest days that you are sat withen 15 to 20 minutes. Unless you are a big party. lol. Besides that for being a whole in the wall its a great place to come and enjoy your time. Pros: everything more

Tamales, taco salad, the salsa is fantastic 8/10/2006

We've eaten here for 14 years, enjoyed it everytime. Every Christmas we order a dozen of their tamales. Wow, they are so good. I order their salsa and chips to go if I don't have time to enjoy a meal. Lunch or dinner is wonderful and the prices are good. Pros: Salsa, food, parking is good Cons: no cons that I can think of. more

Cheers 4/13/2006

The TV show Cheers says it all. We love to walk in and immediately get seated at our favorite table without having to ask (if it's available, of course) . My husband and I dined one night without taking the kids and our server asked about them and how they were doing. I love guac with my chips; they bring it out without me having to ask. The food is flavorful, attractive and always hot! We love our little piece of Mexican heaven! Pros: Value, Taste, Service Cons: Take-out does not, do justice to their, food! more

We visit Felipes 4/8/2006

Alot as we love the food here. are only concern is that our service is always crappy. Most of the servers are abt 16 years old and have no clue what they are doing. Best idea is to get it to go. WE have been doing this for a while and it works great ! Pros: Inexpensive, Good Food Cons: Bad Servers more

A diamond in the ruff 6/14/2005

Felipe's is and will always be my favorite Mexican restaurant in Sacramento-anywhere actually. The food is consistently wonderful and the service staff is atentive and friendly. It's not on the best street in town but it is so worth it! Pros: great service Cons: no root beer more

Best food around 8/3/2003

This restaraunt by far has the best mexican food in the area. And the value and proportions are incredible. Dont get the nacho's unless you have a partner. The enviroment is great with live music. Overall this restaraunt is definitely worth your time and money over and over again. Pros: Inexpensive, Usually No Wait Cons: Bad Area of Town more

possibly the best 6/13/2003

Chile verde fanciers will love their version of it. Nothing fancy here. if you want the basics-good basics-this is the place. A taco you sink your teeth into; A chile relleno-made like it is supposed to be made; a cheese enchilada-rich and gooey-enough said. Try it, you wont be sorry more

A hole in the wall you'll want to find 10/31/2002

This is a small family owned restaurant. The food is very good. Try the chimichangas! The portions are pretty substantial so have an appetite or a doggy bag at hand. They have a guitar player who walks around and sings on occasion. Pros: Reasonable prices, Great food, Good service Cons: Small restaurant more
