Agreeing to host a progressive dinner tour is stepping up to a high bar. BICYCLE TOURS OF ATLANTA brought in 11 hungry cyclists to sample the best FEAST had to offer. The chef...

Worst

I wouldn't go back. Just acceptable slow untrained service. VERY GREASY STEAK. Atmosphere is nice. After having our appetizers just a minute a food runner tried to give us someon...

Don't waste your time, money or gas. NOT good. 4/10/2007

Don't waste your time, gas or money. Basically a ""cliche"" - Mediterranean? Ha, only to those who have never traveled outside of Decatur. Food was greasy, salty and nothing to write home about. Staff was pretentious (why, when she was waiting on us, I have no idea), rude, unattentive and lacking in personality, grace or cheerfulness. Even the lady, who ""checked"" on us mid-meal, (we presume she is the owner, manager or head honcho-ette in some capacity), had the demeanor or a stuffed prune. Pros: Ambience Cons: Poor food quality more

A great place for good food, good wine and good friends 3/29/2007

I've eaten at Feast 3 times now and can't wait to go back. Every experience has been better than the last. My last time was for my birthday and we had a party of 18. Our waitress was flawless. She kept everything straight and made our evening very pleasant. The food was wonderful as usual. The menu has a nice variety. There is a nice wine list with several selections in the $20.00 range. I think there is something there for everyone. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Parking is a little difficult but the experience is well worth the effort. So if you are looking for a very pleasant evening with some friends and good food and wine, I highly recommend this restaurant. more

Better Service From a Fast Food Place 3/16/2007

We had a waitress who told us what to order and when we did not choose her selection, she got mad at us... saying ""why didn't you pick my choice, you don't believe me that it's good"". The waitress seemed to have a negative comment for everything, including the wine sampling selection, which she told us will give us gas. The ""deals"" that Feast offers seem to have a lot of loopholes. If you are looking for a deal at Feast, expect to be talked out of it. The food was good, but I felt like the service ruined my meal. Cons: Service, Noisy more

FAR from a Feast... 3/4/2007

My husband had come here for lunch about a month ago and raved about it. Sorry to say dinner wasn't all that great. When we were ready to order, my husband ordered the chicken and the server actually said the chicken was dry and he shouldn't order it. She then pushed him to order the chicken 'special' wrapped in foil (that turned out to be just as dry as the other would have been). I ordered scallops and I should have known better than to order seafood on a Sunday. They were tough and rubbery. The polenta was lumpy and had a skin on it. It appeared as though my dish was prepared first and then set under the heat lamps until my husband's chicken was done. We then heard the server tell a newly seated table specifically NOT to order the dishes we got and recommended other entrees. I sent my dish back half uneaten and my husband left the charred remains of his over-glorified hobo pack. We declined dessert. I am so tired of paying too much money for bad food and bad service. If you're going to charge that much, at least spend some time training your staff (including the chef!). Pros: ambience was nice Cons: service bad. food worse. more

Great place, but waitstaff needs improvement 3/2/2007

I really love this place, but there are some things that need to be fixed! The food was great, atmosphere excellent.....but there is just a problem with the staff here. I have been to Feast twice. The first time I went, we had a very nice meal, but the server was rude. We were ""encouraged"" /pressured to order much more expensive wine, and when we said that we would just stick with our original choice were made to feel guilty and uncouth. She kept telling us ""You won't like that"" when we would order things- to the point of making us uncomfortable.....NOT acceptable! It is fine to give opinions, but she pushed it way too far....and we never asked for her opinion in the first place. She was very short with us, and certainly did not make a good impression. more

Not the best in Decatur, but very good 1/8/2007

Feast fits in perfectly with the many other good establishments in Decatur. The setting is quaint but can be quite noisy on busy nights. Service has always been good to me. Food is adequately spiced, though saltiness can be a little off. Good selection with a good variety of both appetizers and entrees. But, for the money, close by Cafe Lily offers a better meal. Pros: Nice setting, above average food Cons: Parking can be a little difficult, noisy when busy more

Great food and attentive staff 11/29/2006

By far the best restaurant in Decatur. There is something on the menu for everyone. Service is attentive and professional. The staff offers fantastic food and wine recomendations. Feast is a welcomed addition to decatur. Pros: Service Cons: crowded weekends more

Always an excellent dining experience 11/27/2006

I frequent Feast Restaurant in Decatur on an ""almost weekly"" basis and I have NEVER had a negative experience. The menu is unique with new additions as well as tasty specials. The ""cedar planked salmon"" is my favorite staple, it is perfectly seasoned and cooked to my liking. The service at Feast is friendly and attentive. Our last trip there was to celebrate a birthday and our server made sure my friend enjoyed her favorite dessert (with a candle). Our group sat in the private dining area and it was the perfect place to handle any celebration. But, the best touch Feast offers is the personal touch the owner, Teri, adds. She is there almost always and checks more than once to make sure everything is fine. She's even calling us by our first names by the end of the evening. I will be back over and over and I always impress new friends by taking them to Feast. The wood fired oven is a noticeable feature. Pros: Variety on menu, flavors of dishes more

Always Good Food and Service 11/25/2006

I have been here numerous times and have always received excellent service as well as the food being consistent and delicious. The specials they present are usually really good as well. more

Please be verrrry choosy about the staff that you hire. 11/23/2006

I really hate to leave a bad review on this restaurant, because the food seemed good, but we never even got around to eating dinner. We left after appetizers because the server was so rude that we simply did not feel welcomed enough to stay. more

Nice decor, but rude and curt service and food WAY TOO SALTY 11/10/2006

When we walked in, we found this restaurant to be an attractive and cozy environment, with exposed brick walls and ambient lighting. more

Warm and Inviting 10/12/2006

I have to say it's one of the best all around places I've been to since moving here from Virginia 5 years ago. It's one of those best kept secrets in town, although I fear that Feast is catching on quickly in Atlanta and will soon be so busy it may take and act of God to get a reservation. Every time we've been to Feast has been a truely great experience. The food, from the Fried Artichoke Hearts (my Favorite) to the house salad and their many main dishes such as the Duck (delectable) and the Ribeye (my bestfriends favorite), are top-notch! When I have the occassion to eat some of there smaller meal choices I may indulge in the desserts, namely the bread pudding (oh my God!), all have been excellent. The service has been fantastic! Several times now have been waited on by an attentive, funny and knowledgeable blonde lady that made the evening eventful in the best way! A big smile goes to her (I think her name is Helen). The wait was not to bad on Friday nights without a reservation. We just hung out at the lovely bar (The bartender's cute and makes good drinks). The ambiance is warm, good for date night or with lively friends. It has become one of my top 10. Have only eaten lunch there once...It's a deal! Lunch menu is superb! Going again soon!!!!! Pros: Service, Food, Ambience Cons: Noise(sometimes) more

I felt like I was in Madrid!! This restaurant has it ALL! 9/12/2006

From the moment I walked into Feast last night, memories of great times I've had in Madrid, Spain entered my mind! The decor, lighting, sounds and smells brought back memories I truly like to remember and now I don't have to travel thousands of miles to re-live them! Feast has it ALL! Pros: Food, service, ambience Cons: cannot think of any!!! more

A lovely meal 9/6/2006

I always get great service and a wonderful meal. The goat cheese fondue is a perfect match for bread as a starter and is so tasty. Nice wines compliment things like the pork chops and other entrees. Pros: Great wine, food and lower lighting Cons: May get a little loud if it's crowded more

this isn't what I ordered..... 7/28/2006

Went to Feast on a Friday night and had dinner at the bar. Very happy with the service but very disappointed with the kitchen. Ordered the antipasta plate that came with various meats and cheeses..it came and no cheese. We asked about it and they then brought us a little cup of some cheese spread, not what we were anticipating. Then we ordered the Feast Salad which you think the chefs would know the ingredients but again the salads came and half the ingredients were missing...no pears or no mushrooms. When we called the manager over to complain he blamed it on the server not the chefs who prepared the food. They did give us a reduction in cost but we have had other instances there where the meals are very uneven. Not thinking we need to go back there anytime soon. more

Great for any night 7/18/2006

I have been to Feast so many times that I'm definitely on the ""regular"" list, but there is nothing regular about this place. Beginning with the entrance, where you are greeted with a smile (rare these days) and a cozy setting, all the way through dessert (coconut cake), you will be pleased and satisfied. The food is incredible and everything is freshly made (it shows). I especially enjoy the nightly specials which usually consists of fresh fish and vegetables which are accented by an unusual, but tastey sauce. The portions are generous and the prices are suprisingly affordable. I'll be back, keep up the good work. Pros: Portions, Prices, Personality more

Great fit for Decatur 7/18/2006

I'm also a big fan of Feast. All the employees have been exceptionally nice on every visit. When you walk in the door the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff follow up with great service and wonderful food. I often take meals at the bar with Nadia, who is as friendly and efficient a bartender as you are likely to find. I must respond to siamese cat's assessment that their mashed potatoes are from a box; I totally disagree, having often ordered them as a side dish. Among my favorites are the scallops and the pork tenderloin. I also like the fact that it is an easy place to just show up ""as is"" during the week, or spiffed up with a date for dinner on the weekends. Highly recommended. more

We Loved It! 7/14/2006

Great ambiance, very romantic...sets the mood. Service was excellent. Calamari with onions and capers was very good, so is the woodgilled salmon on a plank. The ""special"" with petite filet, so tender and tasty with broiled shrimp, to die for! Stay away from anything with ""buttermilk mashed potatoes""...these are out of a box, for sure...no way are they real potatoes! Substitute for another side, instead.(I'm a cook, so I know the difference, plus, I used to be a food technician at Kraft...trust me, these are potato ""flakes"" mixed with milk and butter) Pros: Wonderful romantic ambiance, great for a first date, excellent service Cons: Get rid of those boxed potatoes!Try smashed red potatoes instead...we know the difference! more

After few visits. 6/20/2006

We had brunch at Feast few a while ago and it was great. Food, service and ambiance were great. We were hoping to have same experience for dinner as well. However, after two visits I have to report that dinner was disappointing. We sat at the bar with my wife and ordered Martinis and mine was good and my wife sent hers back. Bartender was nice but very slow. My entree was Trout and had no taste at all. I got sick because of it that night. I am pretty sure it was because of heavy butter they used for the sauce of the trout. My wife ordered a pasta dish, and she barely had few bites. Dinner is very pricy especially for the quality of the food. It is very disappointing because I was hopping this would be my new favorite restaurant, however I do not even think I would return. If I ever do, I would stay away from entrees stick with wine and few appetizers. And also why would not you play any music when you have such lively concept that is called Feast? I just do not get it!!!!! Pros: good looking restaurant Cons: entrees, no music playing more

Good. 4/19/2006

I have been there twice now and the service and ambience are wonderful. It is a cozy and romantic. The food is good but not as tasty as I had hoped. The bread pudding, when fresh, is incredible. more
