My friends and I walked here from our hotel room in search of a dinner. We had originally planned on eating at the adjacent Denny's, but changed our minds when we saw the amazing 1920's mahogany bar at Fat City. We sat at the bar and ordered a Central Coast Pinot Nior. The bartender doubled as our waiter, too -- my pals wanted to watch some football on the TV behind the bar. The food was excellent -- the roasted chicken was a little salty, but the garlic mashed potatoes and house salad with ranch were great. The homemade clam chowder was the highlight of the night, though -- it was easily the best I've had in years! All in all, a good meal with great ambiance and friendly service -- I'd recommend a quick dinner and drink here if you get the chance.
Pros: Great ambiance, decent food, friendly bar staff
Cons: A little pricey
