Horrible experience. Stay away. Do not recommend.
Here is why:
I brought a lovely little kilim Persian rug to Farsh Rugs to be cleaned. Prior to cleaning the rug was in excellent condition. It had been rolled up and tucked away in a closet, unused and untouched for years.
Weeks after I had been told it would be ready (and after a phone call asking why the rug cleaning was taking so long), I went to pick it up and immediately noticed that the bottom edge had been terribly damaged.
While it looked like there had been an attempt to repair the damage, the bottom still looked like it had been mangled by machine. I was very surprised and very disappointed. The rug had been given to me by my parents, and I was having it cleaned so I could hang it on a wall and keep it off the floor.
There were two men in the store and I pointed the damage out to one sitting at the desk. He responded and seemed very sympathetic and apologetic. But as soon as he started talking, the other man in the store quickly interrupted and said in an aggressive way that the rug was like that when I dropped it off. I was pretty stunned when I heard this and said in a slow and polite way that it was not damaged when I brought it in. The first man said nothing more. And no matter what I said the second man continued to deny all responsibility for the damage, and throughout the exchange he was hostile and condescending and make me feel like I was the one at fault!
Listen, the rug wasn’t worth a lot of money; it had more sentimental value for me. But it was the appalling and patronizing manner in which I was treated that makes me write this review. So, stay away from this place or be ready to deal with real arrogant son of a bitch.
