This "doctor" has the worst "chair-side manner" ever! He didn't say hi,introduce himself or have any type of small talk with me whatsoever to put me at ease, as I was a nervous wreck!
I wanted/needed dentures and he just disregarded my wishes! He appeared angry that I declined to do anymore "money making" root canals so he then decided that he would only pull the teeth that needed to pulled and Then let me walk out toothless!! I'm upper middle class, but due to genetics, medications and age, my teeth have been slowly rotting away. I'm tired of the pain, frequent infections and the costs of trying to restore what teeth I have left. Since Shaner won't do the dentures, I have to go to an oral surgeon to have my work done. Which, luckily, is best for me as I will be asleep during the procedure and will awake from my nap with my "new teeth"!
"Dr" Shaner is rude, rough with his thick, fat fingers and hasn't any empathy for his patients. His staff is just as miserable as he is. No one smiled or looked like they enjoyed their jobs or lives at all.
As for the cleanliness of the exam room, I saw dried blood on the lamp above my head, along with what appeared to be a lot of dried saliva on the glass part of the lamp. Most dentists I know cover their lamps with some type of plastic as fluids do splatter during drilling, extractions etc.
I truly hope that if you decide to go to this dentist that you have better luck and a pleasurable experience, but I wouldn't hold my breath! :(
