Ms. Demitro is very pleasant and has a very professional demeanor, but her lack of diligence in addressing my needs as a client caused me to cancel both my homeowner and auto insurance policies with Farmers. \r

First, she failed to notify me when my homeowner insurance policy was being canceled. Once I informed her that my policy had been canceled, her effort to restore my coverage was, at best, feeble. The combination of Farmers' unsavory practices and her lack of responsiveness caused me to remain without homeowner insurance for nearly 3 months.\r

I believe that Farmers Insurance canceled my policy because of institutionalized discriminatory practices against homeowners who live in regions which the company does not prefer to cover. I have never filed a claim and I was a first-time home buyer when I chose to bundle my preexisting Farmers auto policy with a homeowner policy. My home had been freshly remodeled before I bought it and I sincerely enjoy living in it. The company based its cancelation on the claims that my home was undergoing interior remodeling and that my roof had significant deficiencies, none of which were correct. These dirty business practices will only cause Farmers to lose loyal customers like me (I had auto insurance with them for years). After reading stories that are similar to mine, I am convinced that there should be some form of legal action against Farmers Insurance for their unfair policy cancelation practices.\r

Throughout the process of trying to restore my coverage, Ms. Demitro put minimal efforts into keeping me updated. I tried to compensate for that by checking in with her about once every two weeks, but, even then, she never reported any appreciable progress. After trying to contact her for several days in a row this week and only reaching her voicemail, I gave up on her and her company. Thankfully, my switch saved me money on both my car and homeowner insurance!\r

Ultimately, I strongly recommend against doing business with Ms. Demitro or Farmers Insurance.
