Upon the recommendations of several trusted opinions, I scheduled my annual with Dr John Shie. The day of my exam, my monthly had arrived early. I called the office to reschedule and they insisted on keeping my appointment as long as I wasn't ""heavy"", which I wasn't at all. I indicated this in my patient information paperwork as well. Apparently he didn't look at the paperwork because he acted quite schocked that I was there for my pap under these conditions, even though I was light. I was thoroughly embarassed by this. He was very quick with the exam and ready to run out the door as soon as he was done. I actually had several questions that I wanted to ask and had to call him back in to the room to ask (since he never offered). I felt that he was short and made me feel like an inconvenience. I felt very discouraged to ask questions again even though some pain was one of the issues I wanted to discuss. His medical explanation was that I had ""an angry cervix"". Also, when discussing weight loss issues, I felt that his advice was apathetic and void of any medical basis. I did give him another try and the second visit was more pleasant than the first. Although, again I feel like my paperwork wasn't observed since I was given the wrong rx (for a bc that I had previously taken but was no longer on). I think next time I will schedule my annual elsewhere. I just don't feel at ease that my questions can be adequately answered and I may take my business somewhere that I don't feel like I am an inconvenience. The doctor tried to encourage me when I felt like quitting my treatment. I wish I could go back to see him for my gyn stuff. I wish he would commuicate with me again. I need gyn care badly. Pros: Caring Doctors Cons: can't always see the doctor because of deliveries more

Long wait times, but great care . Staff not the friendliest. Pros: ease of appointments Cons: long wait time more

Dr John delivered my first child and it was a good experience. I had pain with second pregnancy and saw Dr David (who I wasn't fond of) who sent me home. Was still having pain and saw Dr John 2 days later who revealed I had 2 infections. I was billed for 2 appointments--why am I being charged for an appointment that was unecessary? The billing department was less than cooperative as they kept insisting it was a billable service. There was no service provided. If he had slowed down during my appointment and actually LISTENED to what I was saying, he may have been able to treat me. I went to another doctor to deliver my baby and they had difficulty getting my records transferred, even after I paid $30.00 to have them copied and sent. I called twice to check the status of my records being sent and no one ever called me back. I was very disappointed with the treatment I received as I was a patient of theirs for 7 years and even recomended my sister and several friends to their practice. They are still trying to collect for that appointment and I will NEVER pay it, even if they send it to collections. Pros: Plenty of literature to read during the consistantly long waits Cons: This office is never on time with appointments. Walls are paper thin, can hear other pts. more

the illness that I had was taken care of ,but it would help this doctor with his business if his bed side manner was more patient friendly. Then the patients would want to come back more often.
