Good: The employees are all jovial and grateful people that make you feel welcome every single time. It genuinely feels like everybody is happy to be working there and to be serving up tasty food to their patrons.
The bagels are really good, and their breakfast sandwiches are always top notch. Taylor ham, egg and cheese with salt, pepper and ketchup is my favorite. You can't go wrong though.. Bad: The inside could use a facelift, but the old-school setup gives it a hometown feel. It's always very crowded at peak times, and the "hang out and have a coffee while you're waiting" vibe isn't quite complete. I like to call ahead, especially for the cooked stuff.. Improvements: Besides improving the wait situation, I wouldn't recommend they change a thing. It could also be a more attractive eat-in option, but is fine just serving up consistently good bagels.. Other: The best part is that the owners are indistinuishable from the consistently good employees. They don't mind when you change your order a little at the last second or are especially particular with your request.
Bagels served up with consistent quality are not always easy to find, we're lucky to have it this good in Fanwood..
