I took my daughter there for her first haircut when she was 3 years old. Her hair was long, down to her waist & I had it cut off at about jaw length. She had decided that she didn't want her hair brushed or put up. So I had it cut. They did a pretty good job if I say so myself....Especially considering that she was 3 at the time & didn't sit very still. Not to mention, I have been told by numerous beauticians that she has the thickest hair they've ever seen. And it's difficult to make it straight as thick as what it is. But they did a good job.
My son, I had to have his cut at 11months old, and I tool him here as well. They did a great job on him! A very nice 'crisp' cut. My little boy didn't look like a baby anymore after they were finished. They did something along the lines of a bowl cut on him.
Another plus, is that a child's first haircut is *free* And they give you a baby's 1st haircut certificate & a swatch of your baby's hair to save. And then they get to pick a toy out of a box after they are done, or get a sucker or something.
I like Fantastic Sams for kids' cuts. They are really good with them. And the capes they put over you to keep hair off you, for kids have dinosaurs, bugs, shapes....different things. This makes it easy to distract your child, by pointing at things on the cape & asking them what it is, or ask them to show you something.
Keep in mind, that not every store is the same. Associates may not be as friend;y as mine. My advice would be to go in & check out the place before you get your child's haircut. Ask questions whether it be what kinds of capes/covers do you all have for kids, to can I hold my child on my lap while you cut his/her hair, or even ask them if they have cut a child's hair that young before. Don't be afraid to ask questions!
Good Luck ~ Sara
