Unique Thrift Shoppe! 2/26/2010

Out of all the Thrift stores I have been to this one is one of the nicest. It is clean organized has a very homey feeling to it. The people here are great. Very friendly and helpful and the prices are not bad at all. Plus I just found out they help out the community and charity organizations every month. Great staff and a wide range of selection, I find something every time i drop in! Pros: always good selection more

Nice little shop 9/22/2007

A person I went to school with had cystic fibrosis, so I was interesed that they support the cause. I was impressed by how clean and organized the store was. Most shops I've been into were dirty, and clothes and things were everywhere. The prices are a little higher than some other thrift stores, but there are also some really great deals. Like someone else mentioned, it is a bit further away from the other stores, but it's worth driving by and checking out. The employees I've met were nice and pretty helpful. It's definitely a nice little store, and I'd recommend checking it out sometime. Pros: Clean and Organized Cons: A little more expensive in comparison to others more

Definetely a place to try 8/30/2007

I was truly amazed to find great prices at a thrift store that was as clean & organized as was Family Tree Thrift Shoppe. From the moment I walked in I felt very comfortable by the way I was treated. The cashier (who was a volunteer from the A.A.R.P program).greeted me & said if there was anything I needed help with, to just let her know. I was able to buy my granchild some clothes for far less than I expected to pay. I had enough money left ,that I actualy bought myself a few things.\r I was curious about some native american items that were just beautiful. I was told that some distributers had taken the charity ""under their wing"" and were making these new items available to the store for a fraction of what regular retail would cost.\r While shopping I was pleased to hear christian music playing. I found it very soothing. \r I had been cleaning my garage recently , I asked if they took donations. They said the did.\r I wanted to make sure that my stuff would benifit someone, so I did some research & found out that the proceeds benefit family relief fund. This charity helps the families of children with cystic fibrosis.\r I had read the previous reviews, & I have to tell you that my experience was much more like the first two. I guess that anyone can have an off day.\r more

Avoid Shopping at Family Tree Thrift Shoppe 8/6/2007

I feel that for a thrift shop this store is very expensive. The owners and the management are very independent and unprofessional. For the prices that they charge on their items you can go to Target, Ross or any other type of store and find similiar merchandise brand new and close to the same price. I would not reccommend shopping at this store to any of my family members, friends or neighbors. Their merchandise is not worth the asking prices that they mark it up for. This review comes from an individual who has been shopping out of thrift shops before they became popular. I have been shopping out of thrift stores for 35 years. more

What a nice thirft store 5/25/2007

I heard recently that People Reaching Out had opened a thrift store. They are a graet organization that works with youth to avoid drugs.they do a lot in the schools. So I was interested in supporting the store (I love thrift stores).\r The store was pretty cool, kinda far from the other thrift stores though.Ifound out that they also do job training for developmentaly disabled teens & senior employment training.\r The store is very clean. It was easy to find clothes in my size because everything was seperated nicely. The store also had a lot of new stuff that will be great for gifts. If your'e in the rosemont area I think you should check it out for yourself Pros: good parking, clean store, great customer service Cons: location is on kiefer blvd. just east of watt ave, a littler further that most thrift but worth the drive more

Cleanest, most organized and such friendly staff, great affordable prices 1/1/2007

I noticed the sign for this thrift shop the other day and had to stop in. I am so glad I did, it is the most cleanest and organized thrift shop i have ever been in. The clothes are arranged by sized and item so you can find what your looking for and you size without long searching, its just like going to a department store. The other items are organized as well, they have a great craft sections, all kinds of fabrics. The have tons of clean nick nacks and household items, linens, hardware, sporting goods, artwork, all kinds of clean beautiful furniture and electrical items. Oh, and they have new items like statues for your garden and home, they are so cute! They also have new luggage, beautiful artwork, native american dolls and collectable knives at such affordable prices, i ended up doing alot of my christmas shopping there. The music that fills the store is soft christian songs, it made me feel so happy and relaxed, i stayed longer than i thought i would, there was so much to see. I also got to meet the owners, they are such a nice couple, and the people that waited on me made me feel right at home. It was really neat being greeted when i walked into the store, i got a big smile and a hello, from one of the owners you sure don't find that much these days. I just can't say enough, you have to check this place out. Oh, yea, i almost forgot, i got the cutest pair of jeans and a top and it only cost me around $8, the jeans looked like new and the top still had a new tag on it from a store, i guess no one ever wore it....you just can't beat the prices for the quality of what you get there. I'll be back real soon!!!! Pros: cleanliness, organization, affordable prices Cons: needs a bigger street sign so you know they are in the rosemont plaza more
