The place for unusual and unique plants 6/22/2009

I cannot visit Family Tree nursery without spending more than I should. A walk through the nursery always leaves me with a 'wish list' of unique, outstanding trees and shrubs for my garden. They always have specimen you won't find at other local nurseries and high-quality, mature examples that are perfect for 'instant gratification'. I'm too old to plant small trees, so I go to Family Tree when I want something special. Pros: Outstanding selection Cons: Too many choices - I can't afford EVERYTHING! more

Worth the extra $$ 4/19/2009

I cringed last year when they rang up my purchases for perennials, but this year I can't wait to go back and buy more. My creeping phlox are the most beautiful of any on my block - strangers stop and ask me where I got them! I haven't been able to find any at any other nurseries that are even half as lovely. I'd rather pay a bit more for something so vibrant and healthy. more

Best roses in town 8/6/2008

I have been buying my rose bushes here for years. They seem to be much healthier than any I've ever purchased anywhere. And their stock of plants here is magnificent! There's greenhouse after greenhouse of unique and beautiful items. You'll be totally satisfied with anything purchased here, and their prices are very reasonable! more

Garden's dream 6/24/2008

It never fails..every-time I go to Family Tree Nursery I am greeted by friendly and knowledgeable people. They have a wide variety of plants, from perennials, to annuals, to the tropics to your everyday house plants and always in good condition. Even at season's end when their plant go on sale, they are still well cared for - not have dead or dried out as you may find elsewhere. They may be a bit pricier but you know you are taking home a healthy plant that will thrive in your garden. Service is excellent. more

Used to be great....What the heck happened? 3/1/2008

This used to be my favorite place to shop. I went there for all my annuals and perennials. The last year or so they have gone down hill. The last couple of times I have been in everyone kind of walks around like they have no idea what to do. Everytime I try to catch someone in the greenhouses eye, they turn and start walking the other way. I used to get a newsletter every couple of months and my grandson got one monthly. I am now lucky to get 1 or 2 a year and all it is is a cheap piece of paper with no information. You were doing so much right before....what the heck happened? Everything that set you apart from the competition seems to be gone. I drove miles to come see you. You don't offer me anything that would make me want to pay gas prices to get to you. I won't waste my money for the drive. Pros: Beautiful environment Cons: Lack of customer service. Nothing special! more
