Faith Evangelical Free Church

This church is quite political and does not usually take well to strangers and visitors unless you have shown evidence (car, residential area, vocation) that you "belong". Although this church has a strong missions program, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of evangelism to the immediate community. There is a women's ministry, but nothing substantial for men. Here say is that there was a thriving men's ministry and evangelism thrust in recent years but a pastoral decision eliminated most of what had been established. The children's ministry and probably the youth ministries are the strongest part of this church. Beyond the Sr. High Youth Pastor there is little or nothing for most of the congregation except Sunday mornings. This seems to be a sluggish pastoral group and the leadership team known as elders are not visible. After speaking to several men who seemed to have been in leadership previously, there is not a very positive attitude among the parishioners. A building plan to move to a new location seems to be frozen, after the Sr. Pastor pushed and railroaded the plan for several years. The congregation became non-supportive. This has been a very thriving and growing church. Recently the church has lost several hundred people which has seriously depleted attendance growth and financial stability. more

This church is quite large so if you are looking for a place where people actually know your name, this may not be the place for you. They have grown so much that they are in the process of building a new church and unfortunately they are doing a lot of services geared to giving money to their capital campaign. I thought the nursery was overcrowded but they do give you a number which flashes on a screen if there is any sort of problem. Good worship band and a nice mix of contemporary and traditional music (probably more on the contemporary side though). The pastor is a good public speaker, interesting but seems a little egotistical. more
