I have attended this church for close to 30 years and Faith City is where I first experienced a connection with God. At that time, the pastor was Bert Hare, the founder of Faith City Church, and father of the present pastor. Pastor Steve has continued his father's love and passion for a relationship with God and sharing the true bible teachings with others. Faith City is a true example of Christ, by it's outreach ministries, going out into the highways and bringing the lost in. Prejudices are not felt, only the love of Christ. I appreciate that the pastor teaches straight from the bible and encourages others to seek scripture and understanding to verify his messages. There is a great children's ministry and family and fellowship events. Faith City has shown my family what the true meaning of ""Put your money where your mouth is"". The bus ministry is an awesome expression of the love of Christ and his ministry to feed His children!! There are no ""perfect"" churches because there are no ""perfect"" people. This church is a humble example of lifting up Christ! I have a ""relationship"" with God and his Son and thanks to Faith City, I have a loving, spiritual, true family to fellowship with. more

This church is so amazing, you can really feel the prsence of God here on Sunday Morning's (and any other time). The church really reaches out to those in need, such as free Christmas present's and free coats. more

Faith City is the best church that I have visited in the Delaware area. I moved here from another state and had to find a church home. I visited several churches until I found Faith City. The pastor and his wife are real! They are genuine believers in Christ and they treat you like a real person, warts and all! They don't judge you. They don't look down on you cause you don't dress a certain way. All of the people that I have met in this church are wonderful! The other thing that I like about this church is that they really don't seem to care what color your skin is or what you did the night before. They just want to share Jesus with you and then you can make up your own mind from there. They have wonderful programs for the kids and there is always something going on here. You can truly feel the presence of God in this church. By the way, the Praise and Worship here is AWESOME! Pros: Wonderful place to get a biblical message from God that speaks right to you. Cons: The parking. It is just that there are so many people that go here that it is sometimes hard to find a good parking spot. more

I think the people that wrote negative reviews may have Faith city confused with Greater Grace, which just changed their name to Life Community church of Newark. As a child I remember the youth leaders coming out to the neighborhoods and inviting us to Faith City. They made us each feel so special. I am a 40 year old mother of 5 now and have never forgotten it. Greater Grace/Life Community however would be categorized as predatory. From what I understand they are once again covering another incident of child molestation,not the first time or the second. The damage they have done to people is indescribable and have left so many in pain and ""Afraid of church"". Faith city would be a great place of healing. I am glad I stumbled upon this site tonight. I might just look them up myself. more

When I saw the negative review I was astonished. In this day and age when most Christians are quite comfortable sitting in their pews this church reaches out to all in need. I was an active youth worker and road on that bus that ventured into neighborhoods each Sunday. No one is coerced into climbing onto the bus and there is nothing predatory about acts of true kindness, fellowship and love. If more people took the time to be friendly and to share the love that Jesus freely offers to all... our world would be a much better place. more

I must say, that was an amazing review! It is also very accurate. I've been on the bus and rode through the neighborhoods where these children are picked up. No one is scouring the neighborhood to snatch children up and haul them off to a predatory church. Yes, children and other family members are offered hot food, free toys (at Christmas), and free winter coats. Oh yes, I almost forgot... free backpacks for school, free tutoring for school. They are guilty of blaming all their generosity on Jesus, who died for all our sins and gives us hope in this messed up world. Yes, a message of hope is taught to these kids. But, whether or not they get on the bus is entirely voluntary. more

Faith City Family Church calls my house 4 or more times a week offering free taco sunday, free happy meal sunday... where they pick children up from a local park and preach to them in exchange for free fast food. predatory, creepy, and annoying. I have yet to find a way to stop the calls. more
