#1 ? Relay For Life of Cobb County
Gather your team and join the Country?s largest event to fight cancer: the American Cancer
Society?s Relay For Life. Build a team from your neighborhood, your company, or your church.
Teams (usually 10 to 15 participants) will raise money in their own unique ways before coming to
Relay For Life of Cobb County at Jim Miller Park on May 9 and 10. Entertainment, games, and
great prizes are all a part of the overnight fun. Call the American Cancer Society at 770-429-0089 for more information.
#2 ? A Special Invitation for Cancer Survivors
If you are a cancer survivor, you are invited to participate in a special ceremony in your honor
during the American Cancer Society?s Relay For Life on May 9 and 10 at Jim Miller Park in
Marietta. Call 770-429-0089 for more information. For assistance with cancer-related issues and questions, including detection, treatment, clinical trials, alternative medicine, and community resources, call the American Cancer Society?s Cancer Resource Network at 1.800.ACS.2345. Callers can reach a cancer information specialist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
#3Relay For Life KidsWalk
The American Cancer Society?s Relay For Life will host a KidsWalk on Saturday, May 10 from 8
to 10 am. KidsWalk will provide an opportunity for elementary students and their families to
experience Relay For Life and support it directly. This year, children and their parents are invited to Jim Miller Park on Saturday morning between 8 and 10 am for a special KidsWalk opening ceremony and child cancer survivor recognition at 8:30, on-site kids' activities and entertainment, recognition of school teams, and of course walking the track. Families are invited to stay for the Relay closing ceremonies, which will be held at 9:30. Please contact Amy Davis at the American Cancer Society at 770-429-0089 for more
information or to register as a survivor.
Pros: The location is one of the best in the country for this event!
