I don?t know how many times I have had a repeat failure from a misdiagnosed \r problem. That?s what caught my eye on a FAHRENHEIT truck that was making a service call this summer across the street from us. Luckily I took the number down and then researched the company when we had a heating emergency. They gave us a written 5 year warranty on the motor they installed. We had an emergency with our heater in a rental property in Montgomery county Pa. on a Sunday in January. We called our usual company and left a message on their voice mail system. We waited and waited but never got a response. The guy we used always seemed to be available during the week but after several additional calls we were forced to look for someone else. Our tenant was cold and also had been looking for someone who could take care of this problem today. We were afraid our pipes would freeze in our property and our tenants were upset about their baby being cold. Our tenants asked the neighbor for a referral and that is how we found FAHRENHEIT. It seemed like 30 seconds after we called, Kevin their technician was at our tenant’s door and had found the problem. They explained the cost would be $99.00 to dispatch a certified technician which could be applied to the job if we were happy with the cost. We were happy with the cost and the service. This is a very professional company but unfortunately our furnace is so old they did not have the part on the truck BUT Kevin came into the house with 3 portable heaters for our tenants which he set up so they were comfortable and our property was protected from freezing. On Monday morning Kevin showed up with the part and told us his boss gave us the 10% service plan discount because of the delay. I don’t think they are the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for. My OLD guy did call back around NOON on Monday and this time I did not answer HIS call. Thanks FAHRENHEIT. more

DON'T USE FAHRENHEIT! THEY ARE RIP-OFF ARTISTS!\r \r Last weekend, I called Fahrenheit because the furnace stopped working in one of my rental properties. I was told that I would have to pay $100 just to have the guy evaluate it but that it would be refunded if they did the work. Since I couldn't get hold of my regular repairman that day, I reluctantly agreed.\r \r The repairman showed up the next day and said that the induction motor needed to be replaced. He then said that the repair would be $875, but that $100 would be taken off the bill if they did the work. It just so happens that I work for a company that owns various plumbing supply companies around Philadelphia, and when I checked, I found that the motor costs only $110! \r \r It turns out that I was eventually able to get hold of my regular repairman later that day, and I had him go and take a look. It was indeed the motor. He went out, got the motor, popped it in, and was done within 2 hours including his travel time to the site and to the store. He charged me $150 labor plus $110 for the motor (which, for the record, he actually got from one of our competitors).\r \r I then called back requesting that the manager of Fahrenheit call me to explain how it was that they came up with the $875 repair for that simple job. They never did call back. And you can be sure I won't call back either! more

I had a heating problem on a 32 degree day. I called Fahrenheit and they were at my house within an hour. my heater is about 12 years old and they were able to look at it and fix it right there and then. I was so happy with the results. I thought I was going to have to replace the system but I did not. The whole thing took about an hour and a half. My heat was back up to 71 in no time at all. The technican Kevin was polite and explained everything to me. Thanks for sending kevin out so fast.\r Bob more

It,s great to have a contractor like Fahrenheit in our area. We needed a new furnace and Joe gave us the perfect options. The company followed through as they promised right to the end. They even came after the techs were completed with a full case of filters and $100.00 for the referal we gave them for our neighbor. Thanks more

My Central AC went down in the hottest time of the summer, and at night. I have a child with asthma in my home so I need the AC. I called Fahrenheit and they called me right back. The technician Jason was at my house within the hour. He took all the covers off the unit and was able to fix it. I was so excited that I did not need a new unit, it is 20 plus years old. Thank you Jason and Fahrenheit for your quick service. more

Without having a look at the unit, attempting to turn it on, or taking any covers off the technician (Jason) told me that the unit was beyond it's life and needed to be replaced because the compressor was shot. I was charged $99 for the visit. My options were to buy a new unit with installation for $3600 or one or $4800. I subsequently got a service technician from another local provider who actually inspected the unit, found that a capacitor was failing. The technician replaced the capacitor and brought the unit back to life. While he was there he did a set of preventive maintenance checks, helped me identify opportunities for improved efficiency and charged me $50 for the part and $150 for his time. Obviously the diagnostic visit from Fahrenheit was at best incompetent, and at worst a predatory attempt at getting me to buy a new condenser unit from them. I have calls into the owner to request my $99 back, with no response yet. Will update again with more information tomorrow. On the positive side they did show up within 4 hrs of when I placed the call requesting diagnostic service. more

We always felt comfortable knowing we had a great Heating and Air conditioning company in our area with a great reputation. It worked out well when we had an emergency on a cold night. Jim, one of the Fahrenheit technicians arrived immediately after the call to their service department, WOW a loose connection at our thermostat that probably occurred when the painter did work on that wall. We purchased a service protection plan and they did not charge us for the initial call. Thanks ! more
