I recently switched health insurance and went to Montreal Dental because it was a) in-network b) had decent reviews online and c) close to my house. To sum it up, I was not very impressed. I noticed a lot of people who wrote reviews mentioning how the doctor and staff really took their time, boy did they ever! Granted, I was a new patient, and that means the appointment will usually take longer, but it took a loooong time. First I sat in the waiting room long enough to see Harry Potter jump in the lake and then find the Goblet of Fire, then I was taken back into the exam room where I waited again. Then a long string of people came into the room to shove metal tools in my face. I not only had x-rays but also some sort of video/camera thing, followed by a woman who stabbed my gums with a metal tool and then declared they were bleeding (you think!?) so I must have some gingivitis, and some sort of cancer screening and finally the doctor came in to talk to me. I should say that the doctor was very nice as was his staff, but I was so annoyed by that point it didn?t matter. I was officially done when the hygienist gave me a sales pitch for a $150 tooth brush which the doctor said I ?needed.? I already had the feeling they were looking for every test possible they could perform on me to bill my insurance. I thought when I made the appointment I made it clear I wanted a cleaning. Apparently not. 2 and a half hours (no exaggeration) after I arrived at the office I still hadn?t had a cleaning and one of the staff came in and asked me when I would like to schedule it or if I?d like to have it done that day. I guess most of their patients don?t have jobs they ever have to get to or something, I don?t know, but I told her I didn?t think I?d need to make another appointment EVER.
