If you're willing to put up with the unwelcome customer service, and a dirty, messy place, then go for this place. Their price is fair, not all that great. And yes it is true, most of the worker doesn't speak English, so it is very hard to communicate with them. I usually bring sample fabric in to make it easier. This is the second time Me and my wife come to this store. We like about this store is they have what we need and what we want, cheap price. but the thing i really disappointed was the Owner . We saw him yelled at a women worker with bad language in font Us.We didn't know what happen between them, but that lady cry . I'm a Vietnamese too, I own a restaurant in SF too.But I never ever yell at my worker like that even if they made a big mistake. Disappointed about this owner!!! more

I agree with CAgirl28. This place is a treasure trove. I'm a designer who moved to the area from Santa Cruz and was ecstatic to find this place. I refer people from my shop to them on a regular basis. For my money and my tastes there is no comparison in Northern California. I've looked. more

MAKE SURE THEY CUT YOUR FABRIC ON THE TABLE IF NOT YOU GET CHEATED OUT OF FABRIC.THEY DO NOT TAKE THE TIME BECAUSE IT IS FASTER FOR THEM SO YOU GET CHEATED AND CHARGED. The Owner is rude and they fight with you over every dollar no deals given. He wants cash so he doesnt have to report it. They are so messy crowded and dirty.\r No one speaks english and it is very hard to comunicate with them. He changes the price when you come back to the store and you end up arguing. Good thing we brought our receipt so he could remember what he charged last time. The place is a fire trap and should be reported. no thanks dirty dirty filthy!.... Tons and tons of fabric! It is rum more like a market than a regular store. If you came there for fabric not for the excellent customer service, shiny isles or crafts advise then this place is for you. Don't take me wrong - they aren't unfriendly, they are just super busy. They have good selection of shifonne, silks, swimsuit fabric and dressy fabric in general. They also have upholstery fabric but this is not whar I usually buy anyway. Good selection of serger thread. Fabrics R Us is AMAZING. I love this place. There are two locations in the same plaza because there is SO much fabric. Most of the fabric is nicer fabric, like satin, brocade, etc, and considering the type of fabric, is quite inexpensive. This is the place to go on a small budget. The owners and workers don't speak super great english, and sometimes it's hard to understand them, so if you're willing to sacrifice customer service for low prices, you should definitely check it out. Because there is so much fabric it does get tight in certain places, and if there are a lot of people there, it can get crowded. Make sure you wash the fabric before using it, because depending on how they cut it, it could get really dusty. They also have a huge variety of zippers, and few other things, like appliques, some thread, etc. When/if you go make sure you give yourself plenty of time. If you're looking for something specific, you might have to dig a little. I've gotten all of my fabric from here for the last 2 years, except for broad cloth. Don't expect the same types of fabric here as places like Joann's or Hancocks. It's mostly end bolts they get from manufacturers, and that's part of the reason they can sell it for such low prices.
