This is the only supplier of decent rye bread north of 86th Street. Please do not EVER stop baking the NY Seedless Rye. It is very rare to find a decent German style rye (corn) bread even in NY these days. There is still one bakery on LI, Shaller and Webers, and you folks. Slice it thin, lightly toasted, with a smear of butter and you are in heaven. OMG... so good. more

THIS BUSINESS IS NASTY! THE PLACE IS NEVER CLEANED.THEY HAVE A RODENT PROBLEM .THE BAKERS LEAVE AT 8 P.M. AND LEAVE THE BREAD IN BAGS ON THE FLOOR (I HAVE PICTURES OF THIS)AND THE DELIVERY DRIVERS COME IN AT 1 A.M. THE RODENTS BUFFET IN BETWEEN THOSE TIMES.IF THE DRIVERS FIND A HOLE CHEWED THROUGH THE BAG,THEY JUST PULL OUT THE BREAD WITH THE HOLES IN IT AND REBAD THE REST.IF YOU ARE BUYING BREAD FROM THIS BUSINESS AND GET A BAG WITHOUT A STICKER ON IT WITH THE CONTENTS OF THE BAG,A RODENTHAS BEEN IN IT.HARDLY EVER CLEANED.THE BAKERS LEAVE AT 8 P.M. AND LEAVE OPEN CONTAINERS OF BAKING SUPPLIES.THE OWNER BRINGS HER DOG INTO THE BAKERY 5 DAYS A WEEK.HER PRICES ARE THE HIGHEST AND SHE HAS WHAT I THINK IS A SUBSTANDARD PRODUCT (CONSIDERING THE NASTY UNSANITARY BAKERY).WHEN YOU EAT OUT,YOU MIGHT WANT TO ASK WHERE THEY BUY THEIR BREAD FROM.PLEASE PASS THIS INFO AROUND.I HAVE PICTURES OF BREAD BAGS ON FLOOR AND RODENT EATEN BREAD.
