I really really wanted this place to work out. Just think, a sushi place in Ogden that I could talk my husband to going to more than twice a year, so he can get Chinese food. But alas we were unimpressed. I understand that this place is a mere 3 days old and they were busy. My husband ordered the shrimp szechuan combo (The combo addition was priced on the menu but we had to ask what the 'combo' entails.) and a spider roll. I ordered 2 Vegas rolls and a small plate of steamed carrots to let my 10 month old chew on. First off my husband liked the spider roll but said that there was a only tiny sliver of avocado and not enough of the crunchy green veggie usually known in the spider roll. Then his combo platter came after 15 minutes and it was cold, bland and not spicy as known of szechuan. My Vegas roll was deep fried too long, cooking the meat inside making it a California roll and not sushi at all. Also there was no spice and it was bland. When we brought this to the attention of the waitress she told the sushi chef and she told us that we had to specify that we wanted it spicy. For those wanting to try sushi or haven't tried a Vegas roll they have a tangy and spicy eel sauce on top, by far my favorite roll and one I order every time I get sushi. To be honest it tasted like a chewy crunchy macaroni salad. The waitress said 'I'm sorry' an annoying amount of times even though we told her it was okay, and it cost 3.00 for a tiny plate of steamed carrots. All together our meal of 2 people cost us approx. $45.00 after the entree price was removed for it being cold (So 45.00 for 2 drinks and 3 sushi rolls and 2 sodas). Definitely not worth the price for the food we got. If you want a suggestion Wing Wah near 12th and Wash. (Ogden)for Chinese food or Osaki Sushi (Layton) for Sushi, of course.
