Bathroom Remodel\r John did a very great job with an old bathroom which had not been updated since the 50's. We love our new bathroom! It looks great and we would recommend Fortuna Construction to anyone! Thanks John! more

Kitchen Remodel: John Fortuna is an excellent builder. He has replaced all our first floor windows and just completed remodeling our kitchen. Not only was John a good consultant in the design and execution of the plan, but also a conscientious worker. He paid attention to detail, making sure the cabinets, plumbing, and appliances were installed and working correctly. He arrived on time and worked around our schedule. \r We appreciated his efforts to limit the mess of the remodeling by hanging a plastic curtain the kitchen to avoid the dust from getting into our livingroom, and cardboard was laid down on the floor to protect it from scratching and to keep it clean. Every night he vacuumed up, and when all the work was done the cardboard was removed and the floor washed.\r It was great to see he was as pleased with the finished product as I was. He takes great pride in his work. \r more

I had cedar wood on the front of my house which was rotting and needed replacement. I decided I wanted a ""no fuss-maintence free siding"". I joined Angie's list and found 3 contractors to contact. Two of the contractors came, didn't really measure and presented me with quotes. Then the high pressure tactics began!! The third vendor, John Fortuna ,came over and spent a great deal of time discussing options and measuring the front of the house. Let me just say that as soon as I met John I knew he would be the one I would select. I am from New Jersey, a widow and have my parents living with me. Let's just say that both my 85 year old Dad and I are a great judge of character and integrity, both our guts said, ""doesn't matter if John's quote is the same or higher, he has the job"", and let me tell you our we glad we chose him.\r First, John is the owner of Fortuna construction, and he does all the work himself!!!! This the hardest, most diligent and honest person I have ever had the pleasure to HIRE!\r His workmanship and attention to details is absolutely amazing. I was able to work closely with him amd only when I asked him to provide an opinion on the options to choose would he provide it.\r Here is a sidenote: One of the previous contractors who provided a bid, was outside alone, we heard a big commotion like a ladder falling. I went to my window to make sure he was okay. It wasn't until days later that I noticed he had broken a small window in the basement. It was a weekend, at that point I hadn't even confirmed with John that he had the job. I called around to window replacement companies, no answer. I phoned John Fortuna, he came right over and said that he would replace the window!! He came over on a Satuday and he wasn't even hired at that point. Talk about impressive and a man of integrity.\r Now to his work: The siding is AMAZING, it looks like a new house!! I am thrilled! John is the only one that I will ever hire from this point forward and I have other jobs that need to be done in this house. He has now begun work on enclosing my back deck and I cannot wait till it is completed.\r You will get no one better to do any work on your house, this is one amazing (never stops working) man, and I feel a friend for life. He and my dad are truly buddies!!\r more

John did the complete job from helping us determine what we wanted to do to tearing out our kitchen and remodeling the ktichen complete with installing new cabinets, new appliances, new faucets, and working with the granite company to install the new granite counters. He final bill was very close to the orginal estimate and his craftmanship is excellent. We are very happy with the final product. more

A 12K remodel around the house, new windows, patio door and siding for the front of the house. Everything was done on time. John and crew showed up every day on time, cleaned up everyday, completed the job on time. The finished job is great. Nice to be able to trust in some one again. more

I absolutely love the work John does. I don't even consider using anyone else on my house. Why would I? I have found a honest, hardworking, dedicated and thorough contractor. I recommend him to everyone I talk to. His work speaks for itself. I know my old house is in good hands and whatever recommendations he makes I go with because I know he is being honest and not trying to take advantage of me. He works within my budget and lets me know when things are going to add cost and when I save money. more

John recently did a kitchen remodel job for us. We replaced counters, sink, all appliances and had a new wood floor and tile backsplash installed. John's workmanship is excellent. The worksite was kept clean. We LOVE our new kitchen! more

John just tore out our old tub and put in a walk in shower with stone tile walls, glass block and glass door-looks awsome- He is very professional and knowlegeable- no mess -didn't know he'd been there frrom day to day. He encountered obstacles with an old house with calm, good ideas. He and his co-worker were great and we look forwrd to working with them again in the future. more

The quality of his work is excellent. He was easy to work with. The work was done in a timely fashion and the work site was very clean when he left. All in all a great experience. We plan to have him work on our kitchen remodel project. more

From the beginning John made sure that we were getting exactly what we wanted. He provided updates at every step along the way, noting where he was able to save us money, and ensuring that we were happy with the work being done. As John saved money, he passed the savings back on to us, either by going above and beyond the initial estimate or by reducing the estimate. Because of John's honesty and attention to the budget, we were able to get two extra doors, an extra light fixture, a new staircase, and a couple of extra odds and ends upstairs done that were not included on the initial estimate for the same price as he originally quoted us. We have used John for a couple of projects now, and will not use anybody else again as long as we can help it. more

From start to finish John was informative, thorough and professional. The deck was torn down in one day and the dumpster out of the driveway the very same day. The new deck and support posts for the bay window were completed within 2 days. I can't say enough about the quality of work including a redesign of the deck to ensure it met code and was safe. John's attention to quality and detail ensure that his work is a worthy investment. His pleasant and professional demeanor enabled us to feel very comfortable working with him. more

We hired Fortuna Construction to remove our deck and build an addition in its place. He built a 10 x 16 addition with 3 windows, exterior door, and the most beautiful French doors that he hand-stained, along with all of the trim, in which he worked hard to match our existing trim color. He designed it to look like it was part of the original house, inside and out.\r The quality of John’s work is exceptional. He is extremely detail-oriented (even in his quotes), a perfectionist in his work. The high quality of his workmanship shows that he takes pride in what he does. He is dependable, and kept us up to date daily on the progress of the project. His work ethic is outstanding—he put in many long days in the summer heat and humidity. The addition exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for high quality workmanship and a dependable contractor who aims to please his customer.\r \r more

He offered his opinion but deferred to our preferences and worked to find ways to make our project less expensive. In fact, even though we ended up ordering new cabinets for the desk rather than re-using existing cabinets (because it looked much better) and he did some additional work, the job came in less than he estimated – the first time we’ve ever had that happen!\r \r John was great at keeping us updated on when materials would arrive and allow him to start, and accurate with his estimates. He worked around our schedule and cleaned up at the end of every evening, always making sure that things were safe for our three-year-old and pets. He did several extra small things at the end, such as rewiring some switches in the hall for us, and did them at no charge. John worked very quickly and his work is fantastic – very high quality. You can’t even tell that the project was a remodel; it looks like it was always here – which is exactly what we wanted. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
