I took my mother to have an eye exam at Eyeworks Optical on Albuquerque's west side. The staff is rude, condescending and very unwelcoming. After my mom spent $608.77 on an eye exam, new frames and lenses (this is supposedly after insurance), we were told that her new glasses would be in in 2 weeks. Two and half weeks came and went and my mom did not have her new glasses. I called to let them know that my mom was now in hospice and the glasses were no longer needed and wanted a full refund since she never got to use them. I was told by the office manager, Antionette Lopez, that she would have to talk with her manager and get back to me. She never did get back to me and I called again after another week had gone by. This time I spoke with Sarah and explained the situation again. I was told the same thing as before when I called and again never received a call back. The next day my mother passed away and after a few days I called once more. This time I asked to speak to a manager and was passed to Antionette Lopez. She argued with me for a bit and then asked if I was upset. I said I was and she replied, "Well, I'm happy!", I came back with, "Well, I'm glad you're happy". This would have given her a chance to explain the comment she just made but she made no effort to do so. She absolutely refused to credit my mother's account in full and only credited it for half of the amount. I asked to not do any sort of refund until I was notified first to approve it and also to send an itemized statement to me. I am still waiting for the phone call informing me of the amount of the refund, which has already taken place without my approval, and the itemized statement. To this date it has been a week that I asked for the statement, I know snail mail is slow but definitely not this slow.
Bottom line, don't go there unless you want to be treated like an outcast, have people talk to you like you are an infant, want to pay a ridiculous amount only to never receive what you ordered. I would not give this place a half of a star.
