Exotic Aquatics

This is a great fish store, with a lot of promise. The selection of fresh and saltwater stock is huge for a store this size. They even carry some amphibians as well. The staff is helpful and friendly, with one exception . . . The "Fish keeper". This guy is very knowledgeable, but he prefers to spend his time with the fish, not people. He does a great job of keeping the tanks and livestock in good condition, but stay clear of him if you can! The other employees will be glad to help you with whatever you need. If there is a question they can't answer, they will steer you in the right direction to find it, rather than give you bad advice. You can expect to find a broad range of live, frozen, and dried foods. There is a small variety of aquatic plants, tank ornaments and books. The normal assortment of hardware, tanks, regular and specialty lights, all types of filters, gadgets and medications. Then there is the better than average variety of pond supplies, equipment, and pumps. They even have one indoor pond stocked with live Koi. They carry bulk quantities of such things as plain salt, (80lb bag) and sea salt in large quantities to save you money. After a full year, involving many trips to this store, I've found the prices to be better than average, or equal to other stores on most items. In all, this is a well rounded store that is worth a trip for the experienced aquarist looking for something a bit different. Just don't expect anyone to coddle you through every purchase. This is a busy place, better suited to people who already have a good basic knowledge of fish keeping. They'll help you when they have time, but don't expect to get personal attention on every sale. This is a little pet store located in Parkville but not far from the County. It is down by a big shopping center near the high school. It is a really great store to go in. They have all types of animals that you can buy and also a little area for you to play witht hem while you decide which one is right for your family. The fish selection is poor, but the reptiles seemed big They have a large selection of stuff for your pet also. It is a really great store and does not smell like the typical pet store. Decent prices make this a allround pleasure. more

I like this store, especially they carry rare to find fish. In term of pricing, I think this place is so reasonable. Unfortunate fo me, I live about an hour 20 minutes from the shop. I hope there will be a shop like this in my neighbourhood.The store supports local aquarium hobbyist organizations and that is what I find most refreshing about it. more

Exotic Aquatics is the best and one of the only places in Baltimore I can get all of the supplies I need for my salt-water tank. They have an amazing selection of salt water fish as well, many very unique fish!! They actually care about the environment and are always doing something to help out the health of the Chesapeake Bay or ocean aquatic life. A+++ more

With my husband's quest for his first saltwater tank, we found ourselves at Exotic Aquatics. We were quickly impressed with everything we saw and experienced. Upon arriving in the shopping center, you will see the colorful, catchy logo. Right through the door is a gigantic saltwater tank complete with rock, exotic saltwater fish, shrimp, coral, and almost anything a salt water fan would look for. Similar to that tank, every tank in the store features healthy, colorful creatures. They offer everything from saltwater animals to freshwater to a great selection of Betta's. There are also tadpoles, live rock, live sand, frogs and pond animals. Along with livestock, you will find a great variety of tanks as well as a complete range of accessories and foods. Foods include anything frozen as well as prepackaged. They carry many top of the line brands for decent prices. The livestock guarantee is the average 24 hours, however we've never had a problem with our purchases. The staff is well trained and is always more than willing to answer questions. Even if you want to just take your children somewhere to "wow" them, this is definitely worth a look! more
