Exit 9 is not a children's clothing store. Most of the shop is full of cute retro knick-knacks - fruit bowls made out of vinyl records, journals with covers made from romance novels, wind up Godzillas, t-shirts with witty sayings, and the like. But their strong point is their kids' clothing shelf in the back of the store, piled with little-bitty versions of the same t-shirts many of today's parents still wear - The Ramones, David Bowie, the Sex Pistols and an assortment of traditional tattoo designs of hearts with banners that say "Mom" and "Dad". I also get a kick out of the little shirt that says "Anarchy in the Pre-K". Many of the designs also come on little jumpsuits for the real tiny tots. Don't worry, they also carry more traditional items like cute little slippers and thick cardboard children's books for the more conservative kids on your gift list.
The shirts are a little expensive for baby shirts, but they're not your normal baby shirts and it's worth it for a special treat.
