DO NOT GO HERE. I will cut to the chase. If I had any remaining funds from my renovations (and of course I do not because of having to hire alternative specialty contractors to repair all the errors that this contractor did)... would gladly take this contractor (attention Sy) to court. I am the type of person who appreciates different opinions and reviews but definitely not one who typically writes negative reviews on products or services. However, this overall experience was SO HORRIFYING that I could not let it go and wanted to make sure that others would be aware of the type of insulting and poor customer service one would receive by working with this contractor. I will agree that we started on fairly solid ground when this project began three months ago but I did not realize how sour and ruthless one can turn when not being offered the larger projects including installation of the wood flooring and painting. I wish I could post the outrageous estimates he began giving me on his services but let me just give you one example and you will likely get the idea. I requested that all my door knobs be replaced with door handles (due to needing a different color and style) and my estimate was written as such: ""Installation of door handle priced at $30 each unit."" Did he write that correctly - E-A-C-H? I have fourteen door handles to replace, which comes to a grand total of $420!!! Are you kidding me?!? I know many of you are asking why I could not do this task myself, but sorry, I am a single woman who did not grow up with any handyman skills and unfortunately also was lacking time to learn how to do this myself. I also admit to not being the most knowledgeable in the cost of this type of work, but I am certain the price should not be this absurd. Regardless, my point is his labor estimate cost twice as much as the purchase of handles! Not only was I beginning to receive unreasonable estimates the longer my renovations were being dragged out, it was truly the customer service and lack of follow-through of what was to be completed and what was spoken that eventually lead me to sever this association, and truth be told I would sadly much rather cut my losses than ever deal with this contractor again. A specific example of my loss is that this contractor, who installed my granite kitchen countertop (which I would admit to a decent job until I discovered what happened), was planning to charge me $100 to
