Excel test is a business. They are designed to generate cash on volume by limiting their exposure to overhead risk (they rent hotel space and have just one fixed office). They pester you to enroll your kid and make you feel like a bad parent if you don't pay for SAT Prep. Once you enroll they keep trying to sell you their other service. Now in principle I wouldn't have minded this but the problem is that their service sucks.
Their syllabus is designed for first generation Asian parents who fall for the pitch without digging into the quality of the curriculum. When I first saw it I was reminded of my high school English curriculum back when our schools used to teach English. It was by no means rocket science.
If anything, parents are paying Excel to force their kids to come to class and review basic curriculum. If you want your kid to score at the elite level (above 2200), I assure you as a former customer, that Excel is ill equipped to handle this.
